One of our fantastic Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons, Mr James Webb has just returned from Amsterdam, where he has been teaching and certifying surgeons on the MAKO® robot!🦿

A huge congratulations to Ms Oswal and our Ophthalmology team, who have completed our first Vitrectomy list at Woodlands today!👁️

Vitrectomy is a type of eye surgery that involves removing some or all of the vitreous humour from the eye. Vitreous humour is a clear gel that fills the space between the lens and the retina in the eye. It's a procedure that is used to treat a range of eye conditions.

A big extended thank you goes to our wider team, including Administration, Materials and CSSD who work so hard behind the scenes. Great work team!💙

Happy Halloween!🎃

Our outpatient team always get us in the Halloween spirit with their fantastic uniform, and this year is no exception👩🏻‍⚕️.

Both our patients and the team also received a lovely surprise this morning, courtesy of the physiotherapy department - a bowl of mystery treats!🍬

What a fabulous evening we had last Friday celebrating all that Great North Air Ambulance Service do at their Emerald Ball💚.

We have been lucky enough to work closely with the GNAA team, and want to say a huge well done for all of their efforts in putting on such a lovely evening, raising vital funds for such an important charity🚁.

A huge congratulations to Dr Sidaginamale who has completed his first Mako® list🦿.

The Mako® is an innovative robotic tool that allows the consultant to perform hip or knee joint replacement surgery with greater accuracy and precision than is possible with traditional techniques.

Supported by our fantastic team in theatre, alongside lovely Anna from Stryker, the team completed two Mako® robotics-assisted knee replacements which went brilliantly!
