Healthy Hearts Roadshow
Health Innovation North East and North Cumbria (HI NENC) is working with Darlington Council to run a ‘Healthy Hearts Roadshow’.
The 2026 roadshow will run from 16 March to 20 March and will be visiting sites across Darlington:
• Firthmoor Community Centre – Monday 16 March and Friday 20 March
• Rowan East caravan site, Levisham Lane – Tuesday 17 March and Thursday 19 March (open to residents of the site only)
• Joseph Pease Monument, Darlington – Wednesday 18 March
They will be offering free Healthy Heart Checks. It only takes about 20 minutes to check your:
• cholesterol levels (fats in your blood)
• blood pressure
• body mass index (BMI) (height and weight)
• average blood sugar levels (HbA1c test)
You’ll get the results on the day, along with advice on keeping your heart healthy.
They can also tell you more about your risk of heart attack or stroke in the next 10 years. If it’s high, they can help. They will give you guidance and refer you to your GP for more support.
There will be other health teams there too. If you want to, they can chat about:
• anything to do with your child’s health and wellbeing
• teeth and gum health
• getting support to stop smoking
• getting support with alcohol or drugs
