Our happy theatre team after a productive list of 8 patients today, and now getting ready for training to use our new MAKO 4 robot ☺️

This is the first orthopaedic robot in Middlesbrough, and the first MAKO 4 in the north east of England, so everyone at tees is getting very excited about it

Very exciting times for Tees Valley! We are proud to announce we have the very latest mako robotic technology now available at Tees!

We are now the site of the first orthopaedic robot in Middlesbrough, and the only hospital in the north east of England to have the latest mako robot, Mako 4!!

Mako 4 offers the latest in robot assisted hip, knee and partial knee replacement, with multiple studies showing increased precision, quicker recovery times and better outcomes. Mako 4 benefits from improved software, camera hardware and widened surgical applications to benefit patients

The first of our 2 day case joint replacements off home today.

Another good result for Tees Valley, showing why we have the shortest length of stay of any hospital in the Ramsay group and the 4th shortest of any hospital in England and Wales!

Well done to all the team as always for all of your hard work in getting our patients back to the comfort of their own home so soon after their operation!

Last day with the mako robot this year before it has a well deserved rest over the Christmas and new year period. And a lovely Christmas dinner at woodlands followed by delicious home made ice cream and Christmas cake thanks to Anna from Stryker!
