A quick trip across the North Sea to wonderful Amsterdam to be part of a great faculty teaching and certifying UK and European surgeons on the Mako Robot. As well as passing on my tips and tricks, it’s always a learning experience for me too.

It’s very exciting to see and hear about future mako developments and to hopefully roll those out to benefit people across the tees valley and beyond in the next year!

After a relaxing week off it’s been lovely to come back to some more amazing feedback for the team at Tees Valley. Well done everyone for providing such great care to our patients!

And even better to hear that we have the 4th shortest length of stay for joint replacements of any hospital in England and Wales!

Very productive Tuesday and Wednesday for the team at tees valley hospital - 13 joint replacements, and most importantly lots of happy patients - well done to all of the hard working clinical and admin teams at tees for making this happen! 👏👏👏👏

Sometimes less is more and and an operation isn’t always the answer

Well done to Diego for getting back to what he loves after a nasty knee injury. After a careful assessment we aimed for rehab without any operations, which has paid off well. Well done to him and to Phil bulmer physio for getting back on track

Ps if anyone needs an equine dentist then Diego is your man and the best in the business!

As we enter the summer holiday season it so lovely to hear from Marc, one of my patients, how he has got his life back again after his recent mako robot assisted hip replacement for the ongoing effects of a childhood hip condition:

“Hey Mr Webb,

Just wanted to send another message of gratitude.

Cindy and I are currently in Italy celebrating our wedding anniversary, and as we’ve been walking around Florence and Rome, I couldn’t help but reflect on how far things have come. Before the surgery, I couldn’t even manage a walk around the local supermarket - now I’m exploring historic cities and (unsurprisingly) eating a lot of great food .. and running for the odd bus!

None of this would’ve been possible without you, and I just wanted to say thank you again. It means a lot that you’ve gave me my life back 🙂”
