What an amazing surprise to be visited by the sensational Morris this afternoon! They were kind enough to pop in before entertaining the town as Dartmouth celebrates its final day of Candlelit Dartmouth.

Dartington Morris were proudly given the honour to lead this years lantern procession through the towns streets.

Morris dancing has keen links with a couple of our ladies who are with us at The Fleet and so its truly person centred care that connections were made and todays visit was possible.

🎄Christmas Pacas On Tour - Day 2!

After spreading festive cheer at Alexander House Care Home on Monday, our holiday helpers trotted over to The Fleet Care Home in sunny Dartmouth today! ☀️🦙✨

Thunderball and Wayfarer arrived in full elf uniform (with their human elf in tow!) and brought smiles, cuddles, and a whole lot of Christmas magic to residents and staff.

The Fleet waved goodbye to the Halloween decorations and welcomed the display of Poppies in preparation for Remembrance Day. We will proudly be assisting some of our Veterans down into Dartmouth on Sunday for the Remembrance Parade.

This morning Kitty & Amy also hosted some yummy chocolate testing where they had to sample the products and try and guess the correct price point.

Sneaky peak into the collaborative work between our catering team and reception teams. This has been a few months in the making. We now have a complete collection of The Fleet Dining Options.

Mags, Tim & Laigu have created a 4 week menu based on plenty of meetings and feedback forms. Each day for a month the meals would be photographed by our receptionists and then developed into a visual guide with description to be available on each floor.

Nutrition and Hydration are key to good health & healing. It's vital that we give our ladies and gents the best chances we can to provide meals they will enjoy. Having a photograph of a meal in front of them can help them make better informed choices of what they would like for the day.

Today was the first day the files were distributed to each of our communities of Drake, Nelson, Ramsay & MacBride.

This morning Team Leader Wasana proudly used the visual guides to collate menu orders for the lunch and supper service today.

Feedback was it was an instant hit with Ann commenting 'Sometimes I am not familiar with what dishes are, this shows me a picture and it's easy to pick what I prefer the look of'

Whilst waiting for the mornings Chairobics class with Yvonne, our ladies on MacBride enjoyed some themed colouring in sheets. Pictures about Guy Fawkes Night and images to get us thinking about Remembrance day.

Was wonderful to enjoy some mindfulness whilst having meaningful conversations about each other and discovering new things.

We have a great Activities team that provide a monthly schedule but we are also delighted to enjoy ad-hoc and last minute activities to enjoy together. Could be a quiz, poetry reading session or a sing along!

Some magical moments shared today between our ladies & gents and the children of HDC Dartmouth

The children braved the horrible weather to join us for some Halloween fun. This consisted of some Trick or Treating around Drake Community, some spooky Hook a Duck and then we all enjoyed a visit from Wizzard the European Eagle Owl and Pete

We had some fabulous visitors this afternoon from Humpty Dumpty Dartmouth and a visit from Wizard the European Eagle Owl from Totnes Rare Breeds farm in Totnes!

Kitty & Amy set up some safe and fun Trick or Treating around Drake community. Our ladies & gents loved seeing all the children come knocking at their doors and were only too thrilled to hand out a variety of sweets.

Once the children's bags were filled with sweets, Wizzard (and the wonderful Pete) were waiting in The Cove as a surprise!

Many thanks to the team at HDC Dartmouth for making todays trip possible, it's always a delight to welcome out besties over for some fun!
