Today is the annual Festival of Sleep,😴

if there was ever a day to celebrate, I am totally on board with this one!

Why is it you spend your childhood fighting to stay up later, and as an adult a chamomile tea and an early night suddenly becomes a treat?!

Or is that just me? 😬

Anyhoo….

Getting good quality sleep can actually help to boost your mood,

improve your concentration and strengthen your immune system.

It can also help you to maintain a healthy weight and reduce stress.

Tell me a better reason for getting your 7 to 9 hours sleep per night…I’ll wait!

However if you’re having trouble sleeping why not try adding some of these simple habits into your bedtime routine:

☕️Try a non-caffeinated drink such as camomile or lavender tea to calm the mind. I love @‌pukkaherbs Night Time tea.

📚Read a good book.

📖Sort out your thoughts and feelings by journaling or preparing a to do list.

📱Put away the electronics. Try removing the temptation to scroll late at night by scheduling downtime on your phone or setting app limits.

💡Dim the lights as you prepare for sleep and make sure your room is cool, quiet and as dark as possible.

Did you know that a sports massage can also improve your sleep quality by promoting relaxation and reducing stress. 😜

DM to book in if you’re struggling to get a good nights sleep!

02/01/2026

Before you try to lose weight,

or train for a 5k,

or whatever other goals you have set for yourself this year;

your energy levels should be your focus first! 🔋

Because when your energy levels are through the floor 🪫,

everything feels harder than it needs to.

Motivation drops. Consistency slips. Progress stalls. 🫠

Energy is the foundation.

Get that right, and everything else is easier to build.

After a pretty hectic end to 2025, increasing and maintaining my energy levels is my priority for the start of the year;

and these are the 3 key habits I’ll be focusing on. ➡️

Nothing sexy,

no overhauling my complete lifestyle,

just simple repeatable habits that work!

I know the results will take care of themselves. 💪🏼

Are you in?!

Now we have turned the page on 2025,

I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you.

To everyone who trusted me over the past 12 months with their body, their training, their recovery or their health…it means a lot. 🤍

Today, you might be feeling under pressure to make some big changes,

but here is your reminder that;

You do not have to:

❌ Start a diet
❌ Smash a workout
❌ Reinvent yourself by Monday

You are allowed to:

✅ Be kind to yourself
✅ Focus on what actually matters
✅ Take the long route to your goals
✅ Build slowly and sustainably

Fast change looks impressive, but steady change actually lasts.

If your 2026 is about moving better, feeling stronger and living more…

I’m right here with whatever support you need.

Let’s do this together! 💪🏻

31/12/2025

I’m jumping on the “what I’m not taking into 2026” trend,

but we’re keeping it relatable; not big, vague, life-changing promises.

Because reflection isn’t just about shiny new goals and vision boards. 🤩

Sometimes it’s about having a quiet word with yourself and calling your own bu****it out. 🙈

Things I am absolutely not dragging into 2026 include:

🚫 Saying “this is my last marathon” when we all know it’s a lie
🚫 Giving my clients great advice and conveniently ignoring it myself
🚫 Chasing results if it means sucking the joy out of training and life
🚫 Stealing the kids’ chocolate and pretending it wasn’t me
🚫 Getting creative with my portion sizes on MyFitnessPal when I know fine well I’m over my calories
🚫 Setting ridiculous step targets I physically don’t have time to hit…then feeling bad about it

What I am keeping:

✅ Consistency over perfection
✅Training that fits around my life, not the other way round
✅Boundaries that protect my time, energy and sanity
✅A Life 1st approach to…well, everything

You don’t need a new year to reinvent yourself.

Sometimes you just need to stop carrying old nonsense forward.

Go on then…

What are you not taking into January? ⬇️

30/12/2025

You might be thinking about starting a new exercise routine come January.

And depending on where you’re starting from…

that could be feeling a little bit daunting. 🙈

So first things first,

moving your body is what matters most.🤩

But how you choose to do that makes a big difference to whether you actually stick with it or not!

Because if you’re forcing yourself to do something you don’t enjoy, it’s always going to feel like hard work! 🫠

Me? I like a bit of all sorts but strength training is one of the things that makes me feel the best.

Yes, I do it so I can take part in events like Hyrox.

But, now I’m well into my 40s, that’s only part of the story.

The real reason I strength train is because I want to:

✅ Feel strong
✅ Reduce my risk of injury
✅ Move well
✅ Age with confidence
✅ Be able to carry my own luggage ✈️ 😜

Nothing fancy. Just basic, useful stuff!

If you want to add strength training into your routine but don’t know where to start, or you don’t feel ready for the big boy weights section of gym quite yet, why not start with;

🏋🏼‍♀️ Dumbbells at home
💪🏼 Machines instead of barbells
🤸🏼 Bodyweight basics

Strength training isn’t about ego.

It’s about building a body you can rely on now and as you age.

Need some help getting started, give me a shout! 😊

This bit between Christmas and New Year is where, unless you take action, your body can go a little…creaky.

More sitting!

More box set binges on the sofa!

More “I’ll move tomorrow!” 🤥

As your friendly local massage therapist,

I’m here to remind you that, as cheesy as it sounds…

Motion is lotion!! 🤪

You don’t need to smash a gym workout.

You don’t need to squeeze yourself into a Lycra matching set.

You just need to move your joints through their ranges.

🚶🏼‍♀️ Get out for a walk

🧘🏼‍♀️ Do some gentle stretches

🐾 Play with the kids or your furry friends

🤸🏻‍♀️ Throw a few moves while the kettle boils

Movement will help to keep your tissues hydrated, your joints happy and the inevitable January DOMS at bay.

Enjoy this downtime but keep moving and your future self will thank you for it.

27/12/2025

I haven’t had a drink in over 3 years but today I feel hungover…

Unlike in years gone by;

today’s hangover is fuelled by 26 hours straight of travelling 🌍 ,

some pretty heavy work days in the lead up to Christmas 🫠,

a mince pie or two too many and

the excitement of England beating the Aussie’s on their home turf for the first time in 14 years! (Even if they have won the series already! 🙈🏏)

If you’re nursing a post Christmas hangover today,

it might be booze,

but it also might be late nights 😴 , rich food 🥘 , a drained social battery 🪫 or maybe it is just life catching up on you!

But, here is the good news…

You don’t need a detox, a reset or to start “being good”.

Here are 3 ways you can feel better NOW without ruining the Twixmas spirit:

💦 Hydrate like it’s your job

Water, electrolytes and herbal teas. They all count!

Boring? Yes.

Effective? Also yes.

🧘🏼‍♀️ Gentle movement, not punishment

A walk, a swim or even just 10 minutes of light stretching.

You don’t need to smash out a workout if you don’t want, just keep things nicely oiled.

🥘 Eat normally (not “perfectly”)

Add some protein (leftover pigs in blankets anyone?), a little extra veg and maybe skip the chocolate for breakfast.

It is completely possibly to take a little extra care of yourself at this time of year and still enjoy all the festivities!

Remember…change your day. Not your life. 🎄

You DON’T need another 6-week shred or a colour-coded spreadsheet that only works when life is perfect.

What you DO need is a coach that will give you all the systems and tools to help you feel physically and mentally stronger. 💪🏼

But also a coach that will give you a nudge and remind you that one bad day or one biscuit doesn’t undo everything! 🍪

That’s exactly what the Life 1st Method is all about!

1️⃣ 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲

Clear, simple routines that support your goals without taking over your life. No more guessing, no more winging it.

2️⃣ 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆

Because kids get sick, work kicks off and motivation dips. When that happens you need a plan that bends…not breaks.

3️⃣ 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆

Small, repeatable actions that move you forward; even on the messiest of days.

Because when you show up for yourself every single day (even in the smallest of ways); long-term results happen. 💥

Pop 🔥 in the comments if you want to register your interest in 1:1 coaching.

Not into 1:1? Don’t worry…

I’ve got something else coming soon that you are going to LOVE. 👀💬

It feels like winter has well and truly arrived this week. 🥶

Suddenly your bed develops its own magnetic forcefield 🛌 ,

your motivation is in the bin,

and you’re surviving purely on carbs and willpower.

Relatable? Same.

But the real reason this cold snap derails you, is that your head is sticking with July habits while your body is already in December mode.

Summer YOU has energy. ⚡️

Winter YOU wants soup and a nap. 😴

So instead of fighting the season, work with it:

🥘 Step away from the salad drawer and crank up the slower cooker! Warm food keeps your energy stable, your mood better and your cravings lower! This time of year is perfect for heart warming stews packed with protein and veg.

📱 Dark nights can be an invitation to scroll, snack, repeat; suddenly it’s midnight and you’re wrecked. Use this time of year to establish a cosy wind down routine!

💦 Even in the cooler weather keeping hydration levels up is key, but if you struggle getting your 2l of water in at this time of year try mixing it up with flavoured herbal teas!

You don’t need a new personality.

You need a plan that matches the season. ❄️
