I haven’t done this before…
but recently I’ve been giving it a go.
It’s a trend called “happiness snacks!” 😊
These are little pockets of joy you deliberately notice and savour throughout your day,
instead of waiting for big wins or massive milestones.
They are the tiny moments that make you smile.
It might be…
☕️ enjoying a coffee in peace
😎 feeling the sunshine on your face
🎶 a classic tuuuune on your walk, or
🤣 a laugh with someone you love.
Why am I trying it now?
Because right now I’m in a fat loss phase and I’m negotiating marathon training around a couple of niggling injuries,
and being perfectly honest,
chasing those big moments sometimes means that I ignore the little ones!
And that’s when consistency starts to feel heavy. 🫠
So I’m being intentional about spotting and savouring small wins to help me stick to my habits better.
And do you know what I have found?
I’ve found that when you train your brain to look for the good in your day,
instead of focusing on the stressful or frustrating bits,
you build positive momentum! 📈
You start noticing the tiny pleasures that boost your dopamine,
and that helps keep motivation steady!
So why not give it a try.
Start yourself a wins folder. 🗂️
Each week add screenshots, notes or any little moments that make you feel good. 🎇
Then at the end of the week look back through your folder to remind yourself that progress isn’t only measured in PBs or on the scales.
Sound like the type of “snacks” that could fuel your journey?
Let me know!
