Christmas brings lots of social moments, from family chats to neighbourly catch-ups. Make your interactions more fulfilling by:

Making eye contact – Really see the person in front of you, noticing their expressions and mannerisms.

Practising mindful listening – Truly listen, don’t just wait for your turn to speak. Conversations may feel slower, but they’ll be more genuine. And if you forget, just try again next time.

This simple practice helps you appreciate your interactions more, instead of drifting through them on autopilot.

Today, tune into festive aromas β€” pine, gingerbread, incense, cinnamon and more. Let your sense of smell take the lead:

Pause – When you notice a scent, stop what you’re doing.

Lean in – Bring your nose to the scented object.

Close your eyes – Focus on the sensations and feelings the aroma brings.

Acknowledge – Notice any thoughts or emotions, then gently return to what you were doing.

The holiday season can feel overwhelming, so try a little self-compassion:

Each evening, write down three things you did well.
Big or small β€” maybe you worked hard, ate well, exercised, or supported someone. The goal is to recognise your efforts and celebrate them.

Reflecting on your positives shifts your focus from worry and shortcomings to strengths and achievements. It boosts self-esteem and keeps you grounded during a hectic season.

Focusing on the positives promotes a happier, healthier mindset.
