Datchet Village Pharmacy

Datchet Village Pharmacy Serving the community of Datchet, Wraysbury & the surrounding areas for over 100 years. We aim to i So there has been a pharmacy on this site for over 100 years.

Village pharmacist Arthur Willcocks bought the existing pharmacy building (then called Tring Cottage) in 1904 and in the next few years added the very attractive mock-Jacobean facade we still see today. In fact there were at one time two pharmacies in Datchet village! In 1934 a second pharmacy (a joint pharmacy/hairdressing venture) was established at No. 2 Club Buildings (just past the Queens Road level crossing) which was run by George Walmsley. Arthur Willcocks sold his pharmacy on the Green to William A.Herbert (who went on to found the Cross & Herbert pharmacy chain) in 1940. George Walmsley subsequently bought the pharmacy contract from William Herbert in 1956 and moved his existing business at No.2 Club Buildings onto the Green. He continued to work at the pharmacy, with his son Roger joining him as a partner in 1962, until he was 80 years old. Roger Walmsley sold the pharmacy to existing owner Simon Carter in 2000. Today Datchet Village Pharmacy carries out a wide range of services:

Flu Jabs - We are reaching out to the patients who have registered online for NHS Flu Jabs, but not yet attended for their vaccination. All residents 65+ or 18+ with specific vulnerabilities should have received their jab, and if not they need to act quickly whilst we still have stock available. Once these priority patients have been treated, we will be able to start vaccinating those residents aged 50 to 64.

We would like to introduce our shiny new delivery car. We have been delivering to the housebound in the village for many years, but previously our drivers used their own cars, now we have taken the plunge to get a dedicated car. It is a 100% plug-in electric car, to minimise pollution and protect our environment. We deliver free of charge locally to any customers that need this support, unlike Boots who charge for delivering to their patients!! So if you see Sylvia driving in the village, please do give her a wave! It is only because you, our customers continue to support us, that we can provide this service to support those in need within our community, so thank you for your support... and please keep on supporting us, and all our local shops & services. Keep it local. 💖
