🎄8th December – Mummy Mindfulness Moment

Today’s focus is you, lovely mama.

Hold baby close — chest to chest, cheek to cheek, or snuggled into your arms — and take three slow breaths together…

Inhale calm.
Exhale tension.
Inhale grounding.
Exhale “I’ve got this.”

Your nervous system supports theirs.
When you slow down, baby feels safe.

You don’t need a quiet house, a tidy room, or anything fancy.
Just this moment.
Just you two.

🎄 7th December – Red & Green Sensory Exploration

Today’s festive activity is all about colours — the gentle, cosy colours of Christmas ❤️💚

Gather a few safe household items in these colours (cups, scarves, ribbons, lids, fabric squares) and let baby explore.

Colour exploration helps:
✨ visual development
✨ early categorising skills
✨ curiosity
✨ gentle sensory processing

Place objects on the floor or in a small basket and let baby move, touch, mouth (if safe), reach and explore.
Remember — simple always wins.

Save this idea for later this week 💛

Today is for slowing down with the softest, cosiest activity of all…
Christmas Storytime Snuggles 📚✨

Pop baby on your lap or chest, open a favourite festive book, and read slowly.
Your voice is baby’s favourite sound — soothing, familiar, grounding.

Storytime helps:
✨ bonding
✨ language development
✨ emotional regulation
✨ early literacy

Whether you read The Christmas Pine, The Snowman or a simple board book, it’s the connection that matters most.

What’s your favourite Christmas story to read with your little one?

Jingle Bell Shakers

Today’s festive play idea is so simple and SO joyful… homemade jingle shakers! 🔔✨

This little activity is perfect for babies and toddlers because sound play helps them learn:
✨ cause and effect
✨ rhythm and timing
✨ hand–eye coordination
✨ early musical awareness
✨ joyful movement and sensory curiosity

How to make your shaker:
• Grab an empty bottle or tub (make sure it closes tightly)
• Fill it with rice, lentils, pasta shapes or chickpeas
• Add a dash of festive magic — a ribbon around the top or a tiny sticker
• Shake, tap, roll… and let baby explore the sound

Keep it slow, calm and pressure-free. You don’t need perfect props or a spotless house — your baby learns best simply by exploring with you nearby, smiling and responding.

If you make a shaker today, I’d love to see!
Tag me in your festive sound play 🎶💚
