This weekend is all about celebrating the amazing small businesses that make our communities thrive.

We’re excited to share that two incredible Northamptonshire businesses featured in this year’s SmallBiz100, Medi8 Therapy and Melody Woman Music, have received support from BIPC Northamptonshire! 🙌

✨ Medi8 Therapy helps couples and individuals navigate relationship challenges with practical, compassionate support. They specialise in relationship coaching, marriage guidance, and couples therapy, focusing on clear, achievable solutions rather than dwelling on problems.

🎵 Melody Woman Music offers live music (solo, duo, and band), bespoke event production, and creative music projects. Their mission goes beyond music. They foster wellbeing and champion neurodiversity by empowering neurodivergent individuals in the music and events industry.

For 13 years, the SmallBiz100 campaign has shone a spotlight on 100 inspiring businesses in the run-up to Small Business Saturday. This year’s businesses were invited to meet Rachel Reeves at Downing Street. What an incredible recognition of their hard work!

Excited for Small Business Saturday UK tomorrow!

It’s been an incredible week for Medi8 Therapy of as a 2025 I had the honour of being invited to Downing Street, where I had the pleasure of meeting Rachel Reeves to talk about my business and the vital role small businesses play in the UK economy.

Small businesses aren’t just companies… they’re community pillars, job creators, and the backbone of the UK’s growth and innovation.

Wishing the very best of luck to all the brilliant local businesses taking part tomorrow, it’s amazing to celebrate the passion, dedication and impact we bring to our communities.

Absolutely buzzing to be invited to the House of Lords this December as part of the Small Business Saturday UK !

A huge moment for Medi8 Therapy and a real honour to be recognised alongside so many amazing small businesses.

What a brilliant night at the Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards!

Medi8 Therapy was proud to be shortlisted for Diversity in the Workplace, and to finish as a runner-up in such an inspiring field is something we’re genuinely honoured by. Northamptonshire Sport were worthy winners, huge congratulations to their team for the incredible work they do.

As a husband-and-wife team, this recognition means even more to us. Creating a space where every couple feels safe, respected and heard isn’t just part of our work, it’s personal. We are hugely supportive of one another and without that, Medi8 wouldn’t exist.

We had a fantastic evening celebrating local businesses, meeting brilliant people and feeling part of such a supportive community.

Thanks go out to Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce for hosting a wonderful night, to Kairos Consultancy and Training for sponsoring our category, and finally to Trilogy Active for making us feel welcome at thier table.

It was such a pleasure to meet Pete Cohen, what an inspiring speaker and genuinely down-to-earth person.

His message really resonated with what we do at Medi8, exploring how experience drives behaviour and how simple moments of pause can transform how we think, feel and connect. Pete’s focus on Stop. Breathe. is such a powerful reminder that wellbeing starts with awareness the moment we step back, take a breath and choose how to respond, everything begins to shift.

That same principle underpins our work with couples and teams at Medi8: helping people move from reaction to reflection, from stress to connection, and from habit to intention.

Running a small business isn’t always easy. Some days feel like a win, others test every ounce of your patience. But it’s in those tough moments that resilience shows up, the small decisions, the late nights, the “I’ll figure this out” attitude.

What brings couples to seek relationship support?

A study (BACP) of nearly 30,000 people attending couples sessions revealed the most common reasons they seek support:

Communication problems – 79.7%
Frequent arguments – 68.9%
Managing conflict – 67.8%
Worries the relationship might end – 65.1%
Partner’s behaviour – 63.8%

These are the real issues couples face every day, and it’s exactly why we do what we do at Medi8 Therapy.
