Employability training taking place at Flint High School where students attended the Level 2 Fire Safety training course to become qualified Fire Marshalls. The students learnt about the required standards and law relating to Fire Safety. 🧯🚒👨‍🚒

Amazing feedback from Employers last week, after 200 Year 11 students from Rhyl High School attended their work experience week with local companies. Well done to these students on their amazing feedback 👏 It's great to hear how mature students are in the workplace.

A big thank you to The Range, Sacrament Tattoo Collective, Hays Travel, Mirror Curls, Rhyl Miniature Railway for offering these students a valuable work experience placement.

Being a Work Experience Co-ordinator for Schools in North Wales, we certainly had the cream of the crop with Gracie. Gracie Mellalieu from Argoed High School carried out her work experience with us this week. Gracie has an interest in social media and marketing for companies (hence our new sharpened up logos). Gracie has been amazing and her role included liaising with Schools, booking in customers for courses, marking student papers, visiting and interviewing students on their work placements, carrying out health and safety courses and and contributing to the office banter. (Gracie excelled in the last task 🤣). We were sorry to see her finish. A budding employee in the making right there. We will miss you in the office Gracie. 🙂

Corey has been enjoying his placement as it has been a really fun environment for him. He has been creating 'tickets' for emails, printing different things and also using Sage which is what ITAS use on a daily basis. He has also learnt a lot whilst being here including, how to write backups of different folders and databases!

Tomorrow morning is day one a month-long series of HSE inspections of construction sites across England, Wales and Scotland. The site visits are key to HSE’s latest respiratory health initiative for the construction sector. The focus is on the long-term health damage that can happen due to exposure to dust at work. Inspectors will check that measures in place to control dust are fit for purpose.

Childcare providers must ensure they have an up to date Paediatric First Aid certificate. Due to covid, many of these certificates have now expired.
