As the cold weather sets in, many of us reach for electric blankets to keep warm and cosy.
Here are some essential fire safety tips to prevent accidents:
✅ Inspect your blanket for frayed wires, scorch marks, or loose connections before use.
✅ Always follow the manufacturer instructions
✅ Switch it off before you sleep unless it has a thermostat control for safe all-night use
✅ Avoid folding or creasing the blanket when storing
If your blanket is old or shows signs of wear, replace it immediately. We recommend getting it tested by an expert at least every 3 years.
Your safety is worth it!

Real Christmas trees are often the heart of the home. But they need to be well-watered throughout Christmas so they’re less likely to catch fire or burn quickly. If your tree becomes dry, remove it right away.

Plus, whether your tree is real or fake, don’t forget to:
• Keep it away from heat sources and candles
• Avoid overloading sockets
• Turn off the fairy lights before you go to bed or go out
• Remember to test your smoke alarms
