Our first batch of early specials will be dropping real soon! But while we’re putting the finishing touches on our own candles, let me introduce you to Agnes + Cat, our first featured supplier.

Born from misty mornings and rolling fells, Agnes + Cat started in the Lake District in 2017 with a simple goal: to create honest, handmade products that bring a sense of calm to everyday life. 🌿

Inspired by nature and slower ways of living, their collections focus on thoughtful design, gentle fragrances, and time-honoured techniques. Every product is hand-crafted in small batches in the UK using natural ingredients, balancing simplicity, comfort, and quiet quality.

We carry a wide range of their beautiful creations - from candles and reed diffusers to lip balms and gift sets - but today, we’re shining a light on their new botanical soy wax candle range, each inspired by the wild beauty of the Lake District ✨️

• Product Development •

I’m excited to share the new direction I’m taking my candles in ✨

I began experimenting with candles last year, and they quickly became my best sellers at craft markets. It only felt natural to follow that path, and I’m honestly loving where it’s heading.

Up until now, all of my candles have been experimental, presented in 4oz brushed gold tins. These will still be available for markets, but behind the scenes I’ve been developing a more refined, elevated range.

The plan is to launch a core collection of six gorgeous scents on my website, alongside seasonal specials throughout the year.
I’ve managed to source some stunning concrete candle vessels from another small independent that perfectly capture the organic, raw and unpolished aesthetic I’ve been aiming for.

This recent white pear & freesia tester was my first go with a wooden wick. While they definitely look the part, I have to be honest, the burn just didn’t compare to my eco cotton wicks. The gentle crackle and steady flickering flame from my cotton wicks has consistently been one of my most positive bits of feedback, so for now I’ll be sticking with those, with wooden wicks available by request.

I look forward to sharing more of the development process as I go. I have a few more testers planned over the coming weeks, which I’ll be releasing on my website as early-bird specials.

• CHRISTMAS MARKETS 2025 •

I’ve absolutely loved doing Christmas markets this year. Stepping out and finally going at it solo has been a big confidence boost. It’s a lot of hard work — the prep, the long days, the graft — but what’s been particularly special for me this year is the sense of community I've felt at each one.

I’ve received some truly beautiful feedback, especially about my handmade products, and I’m so grateful for that. My stock of gift boxes has completely cleared, making space for fresh ideas and new visions, and honestly… my little head is buzzing about where to take things next. The fire is well and truly in my belly, and I'm so excited about the future of Bark & Bumble.

One of the highlights has been a little product swap with fellow creative and good friend Luke at . I’ve had my eye on this squirrel for a while, and after trading a candle and some bath goodies, he’s finally made it home with me 🐿️

• PRODUCT MAKING •

There are so many aspects to what I do, but one of my favourite parts is sitting down with my books and oils, making up combinations that can heal the body, calm the mind, and nurture the soul. ✨️

So far, I’ve created a few products that have effortlessly become part of my own routine:

• Moisturising bath melts
• Bath & massage oils
• Make-up remover
• Candles & wax melts
• Household antibacterial sprays

Each one is 100% natural, made with simple ingredients and the magical properties of essential oils. 🌸

It’s a shame that the legal requirements for selling these items are so expensive - but one day I’ll take the leap, get everything in place, and finally be able to share them with you all!
