A big well done to Livewell client, Nicola Wells (pictured centre), who has completed the Derby Joggers Couch to 5k course, finishing with her graduation 5k at Alvaston Parkrun last weekend – fantastic achievement, Nicola! 🎉🏃‍♀️

Nicola joined two other participants to complete the course, all supported by the wonderful volunteer jog leaders. 🙌

Derby Joggers is a friendly, free jogging group that welcomes beginners. Many Livewell clients have discovered a new love of jogging through the group, whose motto is “no-one is left behind.” 💚

Their next Couch to 5k course starts on 30 April, with two weekly groups:

Thursday 30 April at 6pm – meeting outside Springwood Leisure Centre, Oakwood 📍
Saturday 2 May at 8am – meeting outside Alvaston Park Community Building 📍

🐰Easter Bank Holiday Closure 🐣

All Livewell services including classes and drop ins will be closed on Friday 3 and Monday 6 April.

💪 Our Weekend Workout class and drop-in session will be happening as usual on Saturday 4 April at Springwood Leisure Centre.

Our customer team will be unavailable over the Easter bank holiday weekend but you can still leave a voicemail on our phone line (01332 641254) or email livewell@derby.gov.uk and we’ll respond as soon as we can from Tuesday 7 April.

Well done to our latest ESCAPE-pain graduates who successfully completed the 5-week course today (Wednesday 25 March) 🤩👏👏

Run in partnership with Moorways Sports Village, the course is designed to benefit people with chronic low back, knee or hip pain by providing people with the skills and techniques to self-manage their pain.

The next course will run in October 2026 (start date to be confirmed) and is free for active Livewell clients. Clients can register their interest by emailing livewell@derby.gov.uk
