Flippin' brilliant ideas for a healthier Pancake Day! 👩‍🍳

Traditionally, Pancake Day or Shrove Tuesday is a feast day before Lent, but while pancakes alone aren't too bad, when they're loaded up with sweet and sugary toppings, the calories soon stack up!

Try these healthier swaps to make sure you're missing out on the calories but not the fun!

🥞Use a different flour such a buckwheat or wholemeal - wholemeal is a great source of fibre and contains 100% of the wheat grain meaning it's higher in nutrients.
🥞Top your pancakes with fresh fruit - berries especially are an excellent source of anti-oxidants, vitamins and fibre 🍓🍌
🥞Ditch the chocolate spread as it contains saturated fat and sugars. Try melting dark chocolate and drizzle a little over instead.
🥞Try adding low-fat Greek yoghurt which is a great source of calcium and protein.
🥞You could even try swapping sweet toppings for savoury options such as wilted spinach or cottage cheese.
