C-Section Recovery Workshop

This workshop will focus on how
to return to exercise following C-Section birth.

The common things C-Section mums tell me is that they are fed up feeling like they have zero core and that this stops them feeling confident to return to exercise or their favourite activities.

Other C-Section mums come to me because they've tried everything including a healthy diet and they still look pregnant depite their efforts.

After this workshop you will feel empowered to begin working towards your physical and overall wellness goals. You will know where, when and how to get started. It'll also be a chance for you to ask any questions that you may have.

If you would like to book in then the link is in my bio. If you've any questions then please get in touch I'd be happy to help you.

This is suitable for any C-Section at any stage however the practical component would be more suitable from at least 6 weeks post surgery.

Did you know that in France every single woman who gives birth, whether via c-section or vaginally, is allocated sessions funded by the government to aid their postnatal recovery?!?!?!?
They are certainly leading the way in recognising the importance of postnatal rehab.

It is ideal that every woman sees a pelvic health physio after birth for 4 main reasons
1. pelvic floor assessment
2. bladder and bowel screen
3. abdominal assessment
4. guidance on safe return to exercise

Why not take your health in your own hands and book an appointment with Anne-Marie to have the 'Mummy Matters' postnatal check done.
PS its doesn't matter how long ago you had your baby - once postnatal - always postnatal.

Anne-Marie can be contacted on 07593240194 to book an appointment

A fantastic post by Spring Physio - so many women that I see postnatally are traumatised and/or very disappointed by their birthing experience yet they are expected to just get on with it 😒
Emotional recovery is just as important as physical recovery πŸ’žπŸ’ž

When someone has had a traumatic birth, there are so many emotions tied up in post natal recovery. Mourning the loss of the labour/delivery you thought you'd had, lost moments of those first minutes or days with your new baby, dealing with a near death experience, fear of what the future may hold for future pregnancies. This is to name just a few.

When there are negative emotions tied to an area of our body, it's not unusual for our brain to try and protect us. It can do this by producing a guarding response = pain.

If you have had a traumatic birth and continue to experience pain or other symptoms despite physical treatment, I would strongly encourage you to seek psychological support. This may just be the missing jigsaw piece to your recovery journey.

Whilst a physiotherapist is not usually trained in counselling, we are a fortunate profession in that we often have a lot more time with patients than other health professions. We are here to listen and understand everything about your birth story, not just the physical aspects. Check out
for help and support.
