To avoid delays in getting your prescription over these dates please order prescriptions in good time. Please allow up to 4 working days to process:

By post, or by hand delivering to the post box at front reception.

By telephone, using the dedicated prescription line which is open 24 hours / day. The number for this is 0287127 8912 or main surgery line 028 71265391 between 9.30am to 4pm.

Online prescription ordering is currently unavailable, we hope to have this service back up in January and will be in contact with existing users

We have another brilliant music, movement and singing programme starting 7th November. We are working alongside the fantastic Mags & Kathleen from Creative Connections. This programme is offered first to patients of Clarendon Medical, Aberfoyle Medical Practice and Oakleaf Medical Derry, if any places left we will open this to all patients so please get in touch if interest thanks

We would like to kindly thank all our patients for their patience while our computer systems are changing. We are progressing well but please bear with us as we familiarise with the new system and as there are some teething issues. Due to this we will be holding our Flu and Covid vaccination clinics a little later this year, at the beginning of November. We will be inviting those eligible over the next few weeks.

Our GP Social Worker at Clarendon Medical are hosting a workshop for positive ageing month.

Living Healthy While Aging Workshop
📆 21st October 2025
🕚 10am - 12pm
📍 Destine, Foyle Road, Derry/L'derry
Refreshments provided.

Facilitator; Ursula McHugh is a well-known Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, yoga teacher and singer based in the Playhouse Theatre.

Aim of the workshop: To celebrate life and living healthy while we age. Positive ageing month offers opportunities for people in the 3rd chapter age bracket to be supported to continue to learn and grow, understand choices and also what they still very much have to offer society; the wisdom and life experience.

Our fabulous social work team Roisin and Caroline along with their colleagues would like to let our patients know about the informative evening which they are involved in coming up soon on Menopause.

Our very own Roisin will be kicking the evening off with a great introduction to the evening which hope to address how menopause is a challenging time for all woman and they aim to touch on help and insights on physical health, well being, nutrition, HRT and complimentary therapies.

Our primary care multi-disciplinary teams and supported by the Derry Federation of General Practices are encouraging local woman to attend a menopause on Thursday 16th October 2025 @ Ebrington Hotel 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm, see link below to reserve tickets.

The event will focus on all aspects of physical health and well-being, nutrition, HRT and complimentary therapies during menopause.

The Practice over the next week will be working on the implementation of a new clinical IT system and this will place further significant demand on our services. This is a mandatory change for the Practice and we apologise for any inconvenience this causes our patients. This is beyond the control of practice staff.

* During this time we will have little or no access to computers therefore we cannot offer appointments and are only able to facilitate urgent medical needs that cannot wait. We remind patients about free pharmacy first services for common ailments including sore throats for those aged over 5 years, UTIs for females aged 16 to 64 as well as the morning after pill or for any sudden eyes issues please contact the optician.
* Routine test results will not be available - any urgent results will be followed up by the GP.
* If your repeat medication is due between 24th September and 19th October 2025 we have prepared your prescription and will either send to your nominated pharmacy or have ready for you to collect at the surgery on that due date. For any other repeat prescription ordering please telephone, using the dedicated prescription line which is open 24 hours / day - 028 71278912.
* Online repeat prescription ordering is closed - those who use this service will receive an email explaining what the new process will be.

We are hopeful that this will be a smooth transition and thank you for your patience and understanding at this time

Clarendon Medical is required, along with 116 GP Practices across Northern Ireland, to change our clinical records IT system. This is beyond the control of the practice and will cause significant disruption to our practice services.
