Health Minister Mike Nesbitt visited Old Library Trust/Healthy Living Centre today to meet with community health and statutory organisations involved in the โ€˜Live Betterโ€™ initiative.

The Minister got an insight into the fantastic work of groups across the TRIAX area, who are working together to improve peopleโ€™s health and wellbeing.

He also heard clearly about the need for increased investment to support communities to continue tackling health inequalities.

Powerful discussion with Micheal and Claire on dealing with addiction and the road to recovery.

They spoke openly about the challenges they faced, sharing their lived experience of overcoming addiction and the services that are there to support people.

Addiction touches many people in our community, and conversations like this are vital in giving people hope that a brighter future is possible.

Amazing event๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

We'd like to say a huge Hive thank you to all our speakers who joined us for today's World Cancer Day Conference 2026!

We've had great feedback from our guests who really enjoyed this year's line up which had a special focus on men's health.

We were very proud to have Health Minister Mike Nesbitt join us for the second year in a row and really appreciated his warm words of support.

Our first guest was Keith Berelowitz, CEO of pRxEngage a clinical trial search tool which is now LIVE on our website.

Professor Joe O'Sullivan of QUB gave us an update on advances in prostate cancer research and treatment- a condition that affects one in eight men.

Leading expert on chemical impacts on men's health, Dr Rosella Cannarella of HEAL shone on a light on the link between male infertility and cancer.

This was followed by Dr Dan Middleton of QUB's talk on air pollution and its contribution to lung cancer.

And we were delighted to welcome Joe Henson of Macmillan Cancer Support for the second year running to update us on the important work of the LGBTQ+ Cancer Champions Initiative.

What a day!
