💛 Endometriosis Awareness Month 💛

Endometriosis affects 10% of women and those assigned female at birth from puberty to menopause, although the impact may be felt for life. In the UK, that’s over 1.5 million from all races and ethnicity living with the condition.

🟡 Definition: A condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows elsewhere in the body.
🟡Key Symptoms: Chronic pelvic pain, severe period pain, pain during/after s*x, bowel/bladder pain, and fatigue.
🟡Impact: It is a leading cause of infertility and can severely affect mental health, education, and career.
🟡Diagnosis Delay: It takes, on average, 8 years and 10 months to receive a diagnosis.
🟡Treatment: While there is no cure, treatments include pain management, hormonal treatments and surgery.

💙 Obesity is a Complex Health Condition, Not a Choice.

National Obesity Awareness Day - 4th March - let's focus on compassion, support, and facts. Living with obesity affects both physical and mental health, and it’s influenced by many factors beyond just willpower—including genetics, environment, and long-term health conditions.

🍏 Small, sustainable changes make a big difference over time. Let's work together to reduce stigma and encourage healthier, happier lives.

💟 Rare Disease Day 💟

Rare Disease Day is a globally coordinated movement dedicated to rare diseases, striving for equity in social opportunities, healthcare, and access to diagnosis and therapies for people living with a rare disease.

🛑There are 300 million people with a rare disease
🛑72% are genetic diseases and nearly one in five cancers is classified as rare.
🛑In many cases, there are limited treatment options, highlighting the need for continued research and support for individuals and families affected.

🟢 Eating Disorder Awareness Week 🟢

This year the theme is 'Community' 📣

Being affected by an eating disorder - having one yourself, or supporting a loved one towards recovery - can feel isolating.

When supporting someone with an eating disorder you can:
⭐️listen to what the person has to say, without being judgemental.
⭐️sincerely acknowledge how hard it must be.
⭐️never pretend that you know how they feel.
⭐️ask how you can support them.
⭐️stay positive and be patient.
⭐️avoid making comments about their appearance.

Eating Disorders Awareness Week 2026 is about encouraging communities to spot the signs of eating disorders and support those affected to get the help that they need, and show those struggling with an eating disorder how to find communities to empower recovery.
