Good morning, please see below a message regarding the NHS Targeted Lung Health Check programme:

“If you're aged 55-75 and have smoked in your lifetime, the NHS Targeted Lung Health Check (TLHC) programme is here to support you.
In partnership with the NHS, InHealth is proud to provide lung health screening across the UK. If you're eligible, you’ll receive a letter or SMS inviting you to book a telephone appointment. During this call, you will be asked about your smoking history and general health, and you may be invited for a free, confidential lung health check with a specialist nurse.

What to Expect:

• No need to contact the surgery: If you're eligible, you will be contacted directly—there’s no need for you to get in touch with us.
• Convenient and accessible: Lung health checks are available seven days a week, including evenings, at community locations like supermarkets and sports venues—making it easy for you to attend.
• No judgment, just care: Experienced nurses will ask you about your breathing and overall health, measure your height and weight, and may conduct a simple breathing test.
• Early detection saves lives: If a problem is found, early treatment can make a big difference, giving you the best chance for a successful outcome.

Remember, your lungs work hard every day—make sure they’re working as they should. The NHS Lung Health Check is completely free, and it's a simple step towards keeping your lungs healthy as you age.”

Please be advised you can book your Autumn Covid Booster FROM Monday 18th September, if you are:
• Aged 65 or over (including those turning 65 before 1st April 2024)
• Anyone aged 6 months and over in a clinical risk group.
• Carers aged 16+
• Household contacts of people with weakened immune systems
• Pregnant women
• Frontline Health and Social Care Workers
• Care Home Staff working in Care Homes for Older People and Learning Disabilities

Good evening, in line with the recent government advice you will still be required to wear a mask whilst visiting St James Surgery. This includes the requirement for staff, patients and visitors to wear a mask/face covering in any healthcare settings. The consistent application of IPC measures, alongside the roll out of the vaccine programme and staff and patient testing, remains the most effective defence against the entry and spread of COVID-19 in healthcare settings. Please do not be rude to our staff when they insist you wear a face mask, as we are only trying to protect our staff and other patients.
