Where should baby sleep? In their own room or in their parents' room? In a Moses basket, in a cot or in their parents' bed?

Swindon and Devizes Sling Library are running a 'ring slings and woven wraps for beginners' workshop, here, on Sunday 19th April.

This interactive session, is suitable for expectant parents or parents with babies or toddlers, who are considering buying, or already own, a ring sling and/or woven wrap, and want to ensure they are using them correctly.

If you already have a ring sling and/or woven wrap do bring them along with you. Do not worry if you do not have your own, as there are some for you to use during the session. Even if you have your own, you are welcome to try out any of the library slings and to compare them to each other and to your own.

As well as using ring slings and woven wraps, we will also cover how to ensure that when buying, you choose ones that are safe and comfortable to use.

You can attend before your baby is born, as there are suitably sized and weighted demo dolls for you to use.

If, at the end of the session, you wish to hire one of the slings you have been trying out, this can be arranged.

Numbers are limited to a maximum of 4 adult participants.

This coming weekend is Easter weekend: A weekend sandwiched between two bank holidays.

And as the vast majority of feeding support groups do not run on bank holidays, this generally means 4 days in a row with no in-person feeding support.

Devizes, Melksham and Calne Breastfeeding Support will not be running here, on Good Friday (3rd April). But what we do have is an extra group running on Easter Sunday (5th April). Unlike our normal groups, this 'Easter Special' needs to be booked in advance.

So, if you find yourself in need of urgent support over the weekend, follow the link to book your free space:

For those of you with an interest in slings, we have two events coming up.

Firstly, for those of you that are currently pregnant, the topic for this Thursday's (19th March) Optimum Bumps is slings. During this free antenatal session you'll learn about different types of slings and how to use them safely, with your impending arrival. Although the session is free to attend, booking is essential, as spaces are limited.

And for those of you specifically interested in learning to use woven wraps and/or ring slings there is a ring slings and woven wraps for beginners workshop on Sunday 19th April. This cost £10 per person (or £15 for a couple) and needs to be booked in advance.

Optimum Bumps is a free antenatal support group. It allows anyone with a baby bump the opportunity to meet others, in a friendly and informal setting, while learning a little something about pregnancy, birth and babies along the way. Each week they cover a different topic, and tomorrow evening (Thursday 12th) evening is birth physiology.

There are lots of things that can affect labour and birth. But do you know what happens during a normal birth, if nature is allowed to take its course? Find out how our environment, and what we do during labour affects how things progress, and what can we do to try and optimise the natural birth process.

Although the sessions are free to attend, you do need to book your place, as spaces are limited.
