It’s been such a beautiful week, inside and out ✨

After enjoying a week of creative decoupage, celebrating World Day with our lovely children, and relaxing in the music room, a very English trip to the Fleur de lis in Hagbourne, Phoebe arrived to bring even more joy as we celebrated St George’s Day 🇬🇧

From London Town to “Oh I do like to be beside the seaside,” we waved our flags, sang our hearts out, and made wonderful memories together ❤️

Last week we had the pleasure of being one of the first care homes to visit Didcot Railway Centre for a special ‘Quieter Steam Day’—an initiative designed to make the railway accessible for everyone.

We started the day with a charming trip on a steam engine, bringing back memories of days gone by with the nostalgic smell of steam and those tiny tickets we all remember. Afterwards, we explored the museum and even had the chance to create and stamp our very own tickets—such a wonderful touch!

It truly was a trip down memory lane. Betty fondly remembered her husband’s model railway, while Mark shared stories of family members who once worked on the railways, making the experience even more meaningful for him.

We finished the day with some lovely refreshments in the café, rounding off a fantastic outing. A huge thank you to all the incredible volunteers at the Railway Centre, colleagues and families who made the day so special for everyone ❤️🚂

As we say goodbye to our chicks 🐥💛, we’ve been looking back on the past few wonderful days.

From creative activities and visits from our furry friends, to enjoying a takeaway Chinese meal (just as our residents requested!) — it’s been full of smiles and special moments.

We’re so grateful every day for our amazing colleagues and volunteers who go that extra mile to make experiences like this happen. Your kindness and dedication mean the world to our residents.

Residents are absolutely mesmerised watching them grow and explore, and they’ve quickly become a favourite with our colleagues and visiting professionals too. ❤️
