🌟 Meet the Team Kathleen Gray-Coghill 🌟

This week at D Gunn Funeral Directors, we’re delighted to introduce our Funeral Service Arranger, Kathleen Gray-Coghill.

Kathleen joined D Gunn’s in July 2024 as a casual Funeral Service Operative while also working as a PSA in a primary school. When the opportunity to become a Funeral Service Arranger arose, she jumped at the chance having always wanted to work in this field. Kathleen officially started her role as an FSA last year.

Kathleen says she feels honoured and privileged to do this job:

“It gives me such a great sense of pride to support families when arranging a funeral for their loved one, and to help ensure their final goodbye is a positive experience.”

Outside of work, Kathleen likes to keep fit and has recently returned to spinning and weight lifting 💪. She also loves decorating and isn’t afraid of the challenge of flat-pack furniture (a skill in itself! 😄).

Kathleen enjoys spending quality time with her husband listening to music, taking part in quizzes, and going out for meals. She especially loves when her children and step-children come home to visit, and she always enjoys trips back to the North East of England to spend time with her Mam ❤️.

This week, we’re introducing Robin Bradbury, one of our Funeral Directors, who has been part of the D Gunn Funeral Directors family for 10 years.

Many of you will have seen Robin out and about in our community — whether arranging a funeral for a loved one or conducting the service on the day. Robin always treats the families he cares for with the utmost compassion and respect, and nothing is ever too much trouble.

We’d like to let our community and care partners know about our out-of-hours arrangements.

Between 5:00pm and 9:00am, calls to D Gunn Funeral Directors are answered by our dedicated call centre. Your call is then immediately passed to the on-call D Gunn (Dignity) Funeral Director, ensuring a local, personal service at all times.

Our on-call Funeral Director will contact you directly and make all necessary arrangements to attend and bring your loved one into our care.

This system allows us to provide a prompt, compassionate response, with local staff following up on every call.

If you have any questions or would like further information, please feel free to contact us during office hours.

Meet Our Funeral Casuals 🌿
We’re so grateful for the caring people who support our team and families when it matters most. Today, we’d love to introduce some of our wonderful Funeral Casuals:

✨ First, we have Emma Sutherland
Emma is the keyboard player in a local band 🎹🎶 and enjoys performing on stage with them. She’s a mum to twins a boy and a girl who keep her very active and are both keen shinty players for Beauly 🏑💙.
Emma, her partner, and the kids are avid outdoor folk 🌲. As a family, they love spending time kayaking 🚣‍♀️ and camping 🏕️, making the most of the great outdoors.

✨ Then we have Samantha Glass
“I’ve always wanted to get involved in funeral care and I’m so grateful for the opportunity.”
Samantha is a busy mum of four 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 with three dogs 🐕🐕🐕. Her spare time is filled with football matches ⚽ for her son, guitar lessons 🎸 and cadets with her daughter, plus reading 📚, dog walks, and enjoying weekends away with her kids and partner 🌿

✨ Next, we have Lorna Mackinnon
Lorna lives on the Black Isle and has two daughters aged 17 and 15 💕. She also works in marine tourism during the summer months something she truly loves 🌊🚤. In her free time, Lorna enjoys coastal rowing 🚣‍♀️ and wild swimming 🌊❄️. She says she’s really enjoying working with such a friendly and caring team here at D Gunns 🤍
