Resilience Lab: Strength in Body, Strength in Mind
Sun 9th Nov, 1-4pm. At the .highland in Lochussie, nr Dingwall. £38 includes refreshments.

Loiusa from and I will be leading this multifaceted, multidisiplinary approach to body and mind resilience.

This Lab will focus on practical, relevant and applicable approaches to building resilience. We will focus, this time, on Strength in the body and how this carries over to Strength in the mind. However, it isn't just power moves, we will be tapping into more subtle methods of building strength physically, but also techniques of the mind that enhance this capacity.

We'll also be exploring nutrition and the impact this can have on our resilience too. (Whilst sampling healthy yet delicious tasty treats on our tea break).

It is open to everybody. Louisa and I are both Chartered Physiotherapists with Masters degrees in Sports Medicine & Psychology between us. We have extensive training in body-mind medicine and years of experience delivering rehab, fitness and integrated care to lots of wonderful human.

As a bonus, due to how we have structured this experiencial session, it can qualify as CPD for health and wellbeing professionals, whether you work primarily with the body or the mind.

We are passionate about what we do and can't wait to share this learning with you!

RESILIENCE LAB-9TH Nov 1pm Nr DINGWALL.

Wonderful spending the morning with Louisa from fine tuning our Resilience Lab, running this Sunday (9th November, 1-4pm).

I'm so excited about this one. We'll be developing our skills and knowledge to bring resilience to body and mind, whatever stage of life we are at. We'll predominently draw on sports medicine, psychology, physiotherapy and mindfulness as we expertly guide you on this multi-disiplinary and empowering journey.

We've also designed a handy 10 minute resilience building prompt sheet to take home with you, so that the benefits of the session can keep on giving.

Oooh, and did I mention the section on nutrition for resilience?! It includes some treats to sample too!

LAST CHANCE TO SIGN UP to our revolutionary take on getting strong and connected in body and mind!

This 6 week course begins next week. You can chose the Monday course or the Friday course. Both start at 9.45am

It is £45 for the entire course. It is Physiotherapist led, it's Somatic Counseller led - so you know you have YEARS of multidisciplinary experience behind the course. And a multifaceted approach to wellbeing is exactly what all the latest research suggests.

I have tried to keep the costs as low as humanly possibly, so asking a commitment of 6 week helps to ensure the course can run, but also gives a bit of extra motivation for you to attend for all the sessions. (I also know life happens, so I won't hold it against you it you can't come every week! Ha!)

The added bonus for the Monday, is that it is followed by an hour long session in Mindfulness Yin Yoga. (Deep stretches in a relaxed way with guided meditation and relaxation) 🥳

I'm really looking forward to welcoming you to our amazing space in Lochussie, just near to Dingwall.

Invitation to join our unique body/mind/health/life sessions at our inspirational space just outside Dingwall.

I'm Alice, a Chartered Physiotherapist and an Accredited Somatic Counseller. I know these enhance my life, so I can't wait to share them with you!

Somatic Circuits - 6 week course integrating many of the things we are told to do to keep body and mind healthy, but in an hours slot! Think muscle strengthening; heart exercising; resilience building; breathing practicing; mindfulness inspiring; nature connecting. Unpretentious & uniquely adaptable for a range of condition & life stages. Great if you want to feel stronger, fitter and clearer in mind. Open to all. Booking essential.
2 options:
Mon 9:45am and Fri 9:45am from the w/c 27th October.

Mindfulness Yin Yoga. Do you need more mobility body and/or want to move away from living in autopilot? This potent combo of Yin Yoga (sustained stretches, all on the floor) & guided mindfulness meditation allows us to become more aware of ourselves & our bodies. Awesome to stretch out tight fascia & joints. Athletes, people over 30, & those recovering from injury/ill health can take particular advantage of this method (for slightly different reasons!).
Drop-in at 11am on Mondays (possible to do the Somatic Circuits first, then add on a deep stretch afterwards). You can book via the website, or just turn up. Class restart Mon 27th Oct.

Dynamic KITE Yoga - This used to be called yoga for adventure sports. It's for the active person (or those that want to be). It's lighthearted, with full body strengthening & stretching, breathing practices and guided meditation/relaxation. We also have a good amount of men who attend. I've been running this class for nearly 10 years and love how so many people speak of the benefit to their aches and pains and how it enhances their sports (awareness, speed, space, resilience, injury prevention).
Drop-in session, on a Weds evening at 6pm. Booking recommended, but you can often just turn up.

Two upcoming half day sessions at the .highland near Dingwall.

The Fire of Autumn - Half Day Retreat

Explore a mixture of movement and stillness with some yoga asana practice to ignite our inner fires; 'cooling' practices to calm the fires to let the vibrancy of autumn to be truly felt. We'll also have tea/warm drinks and a tasty treat

Resilience Lab: Strong Body, Strong Mind

We live in challenging times. Right now, there is a lot to be upset about, a lot to be distressed about and a lot to be angry about. But what can we do about it!?

In this Lab we will be building resilience so we learn how to weather the storm. Jon Kabat Zinn said "You can't stop the waves, but you can learn how to surf" Not quite a retreat, not quite a workshop, this lab is somewhere in between. We practice techniques, with some space for inquiry/reflection to consolidate our inner learning.

We've had a few new followers recently, so here is an update on some of the regular classes we have at the .highland

We also run a Somatic Circuits 6 week course on a Monday and Friday at 9.45am. New course will start from the 27th & 31st Oct! (More on that soon!)

Our retreat is set to be a real treat: The fires of Autumn! A half day of mindfulness/yoga/somatics at the beautiful KITE Centre.

The weekly classes will pause for the Tattie Break (11th-26th Oct) EXCEPT for Caoimhe's 11am Thursday Slow Flow.
