Do You Need IPAF Training for a Scissor Lift?

A scissor lift is a type of MEWP (Mobile Elevating Work Platform) and falls under IPAF Category 3a (Mobile Vertical).

While IPAF certification is not a legal requirement, many employers set it as a minimum standard for MEWP operators. This is often reflected in company policies and hire agreements. Without a valid PAL Card, you may face difficulties hiring MEWPs from rental companies.

At ACT – Avery Cameron Training, we deliver regular IPAF training courses at our Dingwall Training Centre.

If you require training for scissor lifts, look for IPAF courses that include the category 3a (Mobile Vertical).
