Martin, one of the gentlemen living with us at Bowerfield Court, and Graham from Bowerfield House visited one of our local pubs "The Red Lion" accompanied by lifestyle lead Genesi and lifestyle assistant Kachi as part of their weekly gentlemen's club.

Both enjoyed a nice cold pint of bitter whilst they took the opportunity to share life stories, creating new connections and promoting .

We have been working very hard the last couple of weeks to enhance the spaces around our home, renovating and creating new stations for those living with us.

Our first big project is complete, and Shirley was the first person to approve it. We are delighted to share with you our indoor More...Sensory garden located on the first floor, which helps to promote independence as well as giving a sense of purpose. Next time you visit us come and have a look!

Yvonne took part in a More...fresh air afternoon as she visited Brookside Garden Centre accompanied by lifestyle assistant Kachi. This was the first time Yvonne has left the home in a very long time, making it even more special.

Both had a stroll around the garden area looking at different types of winter plants, also made a stop at the singing reindeers station, before enjoying a delicious slice of black forest cake and a cup of tea!

As part of our Celebrating Cultures programme, we had 2 days filled with Halloween celebrations. The first day we had an amazing Halloween Party, in which family members accompanied us in a day dedicated to listening to music, eating delicious treats, and painting. Lifestyle Assistant Kachi dressed up and went round to visit all of those living with us who are cared for in bed, making everyone feel part of the event!

On the second day Lifestyle Assistant Arsha, hosted a pumpkin carving/ painting session and everyone got creative showing their skills designing funny and spooky faces. The pumpkins were displayed all around our conservatory room with candles and fairy lights.

Thank you to all of those who accompanied us and supported the lifestyle team!

Farewell Breakfast Party!

Beryl, one of the ladies living with us at Bowerfield House is moving into a different home to be closer to her family. To show our love and care, our team came together and hosted a special continental breakfast made by our head chef Steve, and supported by our Home Manager Georgina.

Those living with us gathered in the lounge to enjoy some delicious treats and shared cards as well as presents with her. As her favourite colour is pink, our lifestyle team decorated the room with pink balloons and a big banner saying "We will miss you". Beryl was touched by this wonderful event which brought so much joy and happiness, and expressed how much she will miss everyone, and how her stay with us has been simply amazing.

As part of our weekly lifestyle planner we are currently hosting a cooking club every week over the winter season. This time some of those living with us visited the lounge for a baking morning, which consisted of making our own delicious chocolate bars in a variety of shapes, from butterflies to flowers.

Everyone enjoyed having a bite with a nice cup of tea in the afternoon. Thank you to our lifestyle assistant Kachi for putting so much effort into the new lifestyle programme.

Recently at Bowerfield House, those living with us joined the lounge for a game of Just Bowl. This was an amazing opportunity for everyone to get together and involved in a session filled with laughter, excitement, and happy moments!

Maureen and Peter had a fantastic time and cannot wait for the next tournament, Just Bowl games will be held at least twice a month, join us at the next one.

Those living with us took part in a baking class this week, making a delicious carrot cake to welcome the autumn season.

In the afternoon all enjoyed a delicious slice of cake with a hot drink. Cooking activities provide a sense of independence and promote motor skills for those people living with dementia. This club will now be available every week as part of our lifestyle programme.
