Focus and Motivation! Who doesn't need this?
When we have focus and motivation then we can achieve so so much.
This builds confidence and self worth.
It helps to define what we really want to do throughout our lives.
And... it makes this chaotic and mad world so much easier to navigate. Decision making stops being a chore and becomes pretty easy.
When we feel life is overwhelming and difficult, we can be lacking in focus and motivation, and these 2 things can be the two things that will get you out of the funk.

Well this wonder is one that applies to all the others!
I have always believed that the mind and body work deeply together. From my years in the health service, as a child, and now as a therapist, I know this to be true.
So when we work together it is very much about how issue/issues are affecting the mind and body. When we feel rubbish then it can be felt both mentally and physically. In contrast when we feel great, it usually reflects both mind and body.
Hypnotherapy works in such a positive and deep way that it helps to balance things out. It provides space to make good decisions because the hormonal balance is in homeostasis.

Hypnotherapy is well known for its ability to help with fears and phobias of all shapes and sizes. And quite simply, it works! I like to work with clients offering 4 sessions, a week apart, focusing on the "fear/phobia". 2 of these sessions are focused on clearing the issue, it's like removing that particular file from the brain. The other 2 sessions are to bucket empty creating the space for a new file to be built - one that is without the fear.

SLEEP - what alludes us more? Healthy sleep? Low mental health?
You know that old saying "Sleep begets sleep"? Well it's true in many ways. I would bet my bottom dollar that 99.99999% of everyone has a poor understanding and doing of sleep.
Sleep underpins EVERYTHING. Our health, our perception, our reactions, our mood, our physicality, our health, wealth and wellbeing! All of it and more. And we do pretty much nothing about it. When did a doctor turn round and tell you to go away and have a week of sleeping - they didn't . Yet neuroscience will tell you how detrimental to our human-ness poor sleep is.
Something that will help you get back on the sleep wagon is hypnosis, and without giving you a whole lesson on this (💡) I will attempt to tell you in very few words. Waves - brain waves, brain functionality, organ functionality and consciousness-ality.

Now who doesn't need some of this? Confidence and self-esteem. So many of us lack these 2 qualities that help us in so many ways. There are many reasons to this, I won't go in to them now, but when we are confident, when we have good levels of self-esteem, life is infinitely easier. We can make decisions more easily, we can discern more easily, we can move forwards and create a happier world for ourselves.

Stress relief through hypnosis - does what it says on the tin. And stress is something that can and does run deep. It can be built up over time, it can be acute where something happens which causes us stress. But for me, the worse kind of stress is the insidious kind. The one we don't really recognise immediately as particularly bothersome. This can be things like watching the news; going to work every day with bad sleep patterns; being in an unhappy situation - a job, a home, a relationship.
Something that we are used to but it's not perceived as serious enough to do anything about. That is the kind of stress that is life restricting. We create our own prison in this way. Rules and restrictions, being told how to be, all of this is stressful.
Hypnotherapy is an excellent tool to be able to gain perspective on what our lives are doing. How we react, how we act and how we think. Biological computers! We have complete control over our thoughts and actions, we just need to recognise this and then implement the change.

The world of hormones.... Well if hypnotherapy does one thing well, it's hormones.
And this may seem strange to some because how can something you do with your mind affect your physical body in such a way?
Easy - frequency. Words have frequencies, we know this by how they make us feel.
I can say something rude and you feel hurt; I can say something kind and you feel good.
What hypnotherapy also does as a direct consequence of words and frequency waves is rearrange hormonal balances, neurotransmitters. These neurotransmitters are the chemicals (hormones) that become more in balance with whatever state the mind/body is in, when we are feeling cool, calm and collected. Feeling like this is generally down to how much serotonin is being received by the brain - the biological part. We are really all super biological computers.
So if you need balance at any time during your reproductive life cycle, hypnotherapy may just be the solution 🪄

Breaking free!! Habits can be both good and bad, for short term and long term - when we want to change or get rid of a habit, that can sometimes be very challenging. Using hypnotherapy to do this is often the most effective way to change. By accessing the subconscious and actually allowing it to let go of said habit, can lead to long lasting change.
I work with my clients both specifically and more generally, depending on the need. Stopping smoking is a great example of stopping a habit that is essentially bad for your health, and can be done in 2 sessions; stopping a habit of emotional eating can take a be a bit more time, as it is different for all of us. Whatever the change is that you would want to change, the mind is able to do this and put all the files in the correct drawer so you can have the space to allow change and thereby a better handle on controlling whatever it is you want to have more control over.

A Calm Mind and Rewire of Thoughts - sounds blissful!
So with as little as 6 sessions of hypnotherapy you will find your thoughts changing in what would feel very subtle but is actually extremely fundamental. It's not all about the fanfare and that big old dopamine hit, it has to be a subtle, smooth process because it has to re-wire your thoughts. It is therefore long-lasting. We can have all the hard and fast stuff which is frankly in my opinion not as meaningful because you need the building to be done well. It can also feel very impactful when you look back at how your mind has calmed and peace is finally able to be restored. It does of course mean you still have to work to remind yourself not to go back to old destructive patterns of thoughts and behaviours - just have the odd one-off session and then away you go!
But hypnosis, when used in this way is extremely powerful and very effective. Plus, it's not too difficult sitting there, eyes closed, letting the subconscious mind do all the work 🌟

Over the next few weeks I will be sharing my take on the 10 wonders of HYPNOTHERAPY.
Wonder No.1 is Birth and Babies.
One of the things I love doing is helping women and their partners to have a birthing experience with calm; to take some power with them into the hospital or home - wherever baby is being born.
With over 20 years of being a midwife, specialising in perinatal mental health, and now a therapist, I want to help women take control of their births and bodies.
Hypnotherapy helps to clear the mind, allows instincts to be heard and acted upon, remove anxiety and help with a bit of self-belief and confidence in yourself.
I offer 2 courses - Balancing Birth - my hypnobirthing course, and Balancing Babies - my hypnobirthing and postpartum course.
Sharing my experience and knowledge of how pregnancy, birth and the brain and the body work, and understanding the different stages of labour, I will help you to have a good foundation of self belief, self confidence plus a good measure of mental strength, to take with you on your journey.

Please do join us for an online session, to help reconnect and re-wire our "selves". Using a mish-mash of shamanic journeying, hypnosis and meditation for some good ol' self-reflection and re-establishing the connections we have lost.

These monthly sessions, just for an hour or so, will give you the time and permission to take time out to explore this vital part of life we tend to ignore.

We don't take true care of ourselves when we don't have that connection with our "truer" selves.

So come along and re-establish this line that will help in so many subtle, and less subtle, ways!
