Today I drew a Labyrinth in the sand for my own benefit, knowing that its winding path would lead me in towards my own heart, where I could tenderly hold space for my experience. After my walk as I sat in silence, watching as the Irish Sea nudged its way towards the Labyrinth, others were drawn in by their curiosity. Some chatted, walked, and moved on. And then I had the honour of connecting with a stranger around this beautiful sacred symbol. We shared stories of grief and loss, embraced in a way that soothes the soul, and parted ways in gratitude.. for a chance encounter that led to an unexpected transformation. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’ž๐ŸŒ€

Yesterday I visited a labyrinth.

All around it, people were walking, talking, passing by โ€” completely unaware of what it was or what it holds. And yet there I was, the only one walking its path.

It felt strangely beautiful.

In the middle of the noise and movement of everyday life, there was this quiet invitation to slow down, to turn inward, to follow the path one step at a time. While others moved around the outside, wandered over it, I moved to the centre โ€” reflecting, breathing, noticing. Then back out on the same path again.

It made me think about how often the deepest spaces for reflection and healing exist right in the middle of ordinary places. Hidden in plain sight.

Not everyone sees them. Not everyone feels the call to step in.

But for those who do, the path always leads somewhere meaningful.

Yesterday, for a little while, that path was mine alone to walk. ๐ŸŒ€

๐Ÿ’–"The labyrinth is a sure path in unpredictable times" Reverend Dr Lauren Artress, founder of Veriditas labyrinth movement.

๐Ÿ’–Mother's Day (15th March, 2026) is a time to honour and celebrate those who have cared for and nurtured us throughout our lives, to offer gratitude for the "mothering' we have received. Yet it can also be a time of deep sorrow, for parents whose little ones were taken too soon.. before there was the opportunity to pour out the full expression of that love.

๐Ÿ’–If you or someone you care about has experienced this unique and profound kind of loss, whether recently or many moons ago, you are most warmly invited and welcomed to join us on Saturday 14th March in the beautiful Great Hall of Stormont buildings. This will be an opportunity to connect with the parts of you that hold grief, to connect with others who have some sense of your pain, and to step into the ancient path of a Labyrinth where all of your experience can be gently held.

๐Ÿ’–You do not need to be a part of the Forget Me Not group to participate in this event. It is open to anyone who wishes to join us. It may be a chance to meet other bereaved parents for the first time. You are also more than welcome to come with a partner, a parent, or a friend for support.

๐Ÿ’–You do not need to have experience of walking a labyrinth. We will be there to guide and support you each step of the way.

๐Ÿ’–This is not "therapy", and there will be no expectations for you to tell your story or talk about your loss, although there will be space for you to do so if that would serve you.

If you are interested in learning more about this event and have questions for us, including if you may require special accommodations, please do reach out. We will be more than happy to connect with you!

๐Ÿ’–With much love, Vic and Julia๐Ÿ’–

We have been deeply moved by your donations. Last night we started sorting into colours and textures. Each one is so gratefully received and each scarf tells a story. In less than 2 weeks we will lovingly place them in a labyrinth path in Parliament Buildings for Forget Me Not Bereaved Parents Liaison group. Please do reach out if you would like to be there or share with your loved ones who may benefit.

Hello lovelies,
Itโ€™s been so lovely gathering up your scarf donations. At last count we are close to 30.
We are so grateful and thankful. We have had lots of enquiries about donating and attending so please do reach out if we can give you any more details.
Love Vic

๐ŸŒ€Dear friends.. we at Labyrinth Collective are SUPER honoured and excited to be hosting a special labyrinth event on Saturday 14th March in the gorgeous Great Hall of Stormont Parliament Buildings with the Forget Me Not Group for bereaved parents.
๐ŸŒ€In order to offer a gentle and tender experience around this incredibly sensitive subject, we have decided to create the labyrinth with scarves.. And this is where you come in!
๐ŸŒ€We would love to use scarves that are donated by our kind and caring friends .. creating a soft path where participants can feel held, not just by this beautiful, ancient symbol, but also by the love and generosity of our community. ๐Ÿ’ž
๐ŸŒ€*APPEAL* If you have a scarf or two lying in your bottom drawer that hasn't seen the light of day in a few years (or decades!), and you would be willing to donate them to this worthy cause, please reach out to us through FB or contact Vic or Julia to arrange drop off/collection. We will need around 50 or 60 scarves in total.
Many many thanks in advance!๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

We are honoured to be co-hosting this gentle event for bereaved families.
If you have lost a baby or are a loved one or friend supporting someone who has, please consider coming along.
Labyrinth walking is a quiet way to walk with your grief without needing to explain all the feelings.
We will build the path with beautiful, donated scarves and hold the space for you as you walk.
Following the walk there will be time for reflection and refreshments.
We are so grateful to Peter Martin MLA for his compassionate leadership in supporting this event and opening the doors of Parliament Buildings for us.
We are deeply thankful for the Bereavement Midwives and their colleagues in the South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust for their tenderness in caring for bereaved families.
And sincere gratitude to the wonderful Forget Me Not families and committee who are the most amazing advocates and champions.
Please share widely.

๐ŸŒ€Do you ever have one of those days when things maybe donโ€™t quite go as expected and yet you find yourself in the place that feels โ€œjust rightโ€?
Yesterday was one of those days for me. I had some space open up in my schedule, so I decided to draw a labyrinth in the sand. Just as I was finishing up, I was pulled away by the cuteness overload of two little friendly Cavalier King Charles Spaniels ๐Ÿถ. The conversation with the owners led to an explanation of the labyrinth and an invitation to walk around it. It felt like such an honour to engage in a sweet conversation as two of us meandered around the sacred path. And my heart was warmed by the gratitude and comment from the lady that she was โ€œmeant to be thereโ€ for that experience.
I then sent a message to a friend who lives close by to let him know the labyrinth was there, and the timing worked out perfectly for him to also avail of the circles in the sand before they were washed away by the incoming tide. He, too, offered gratitude for the opportunity to take some time out and turn in towards his own heart.
๐ŸŒ€May you find peace on your path today, even if leads you in an unplanned direction. May you be open to whatever unfolds, and make space for compassion and curiosity towards the tender spots inside. ๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ

๐ŸŒ€Another blue sky day, another wee beach labyrinth. Right after Iโ€™d finished this one, two children took up the invitation to walk. I watched with amusement and interest as one of them walked slowly, seemingly focused on each step, consfused at one point then continued with the guidance that there is only one path to the middle, while the other raced past her and ran all the way to the centre, then delighted in his victory of getting there first!
๐ŸŒ€It seems like some of us see life as a competition, we face the challenges head on, and find joy in our perceived wins. Others maybe are more focused on reaching the goal and find a sense of accomplishment in that achievement, especially if there have been hurdles along the way. Others still are more focused on the journey itself and find a pleasure in walking the path of life, even when there are twists and turns in the road.
๐ŸŒ€Maybe there is no one โ€œrightโ€ way to live this great adventure we call life. Maybe all ways are welcome.
๐ŸŒ€May you find what we you need today as you walk your own path, in your own way ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’œ
