Grief doesn’t stop when someone comes back to work, or stay home for challenging milestones and anniversaries. What can grief look like in the workplace?

🟣 New or prolonged sadness and depression.
🟣 Reduced interest in daily activities.
🟣 Withdrawal from friends and colleagues.
🟣 Issues with sleep or appetite that make it hard to get through the day.
🟣 Persistent fear of being alone.
🟣 A sharp drop in work performance.

If an employee or coworker talks about self-harm, su***de, or joining the person who has died, they may need urgent help from a professional. Pieta is available at 1800 247 247 or by texting HELP to 51444

We’ve put together a guide for employers to help understand parental grief in the workplace, and help teams better understand grief. You can view and download it athttps://anamcara.ie/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Anam-Cara-Employers-Guidelines.pdf

You may think that your child would be able to spot an online predator, but the truth is that they are incredibly manipulative and convincing.
Some pretend to be other kids, while others provide a listening ear as an adult.

Big feelings can make a child’s body feel busy, wiggly or overwhelmed. In those moments, they don’t just need words — they need simple ways to help their nervous system slow down.

Thumb breathing is a gentle, child-friendly regulation tool. It gives the eyes, lungs and brain one calm focus point, which helps the body shift out of stress and into safety.

You might use this before school, after a tricky day, or during a moment of frustration. The goal isn’t perfect breathing — it’s offering the child a steady anchor when emotions feel big.
