A big thank you to Rossington Practice at West End Lane for proudly displaying some of our community made Cancer Awareness signs. The Rossington Ark Centre at Holmescarr also has a selection of these amazing pieces created by members of the public. 💙

Following the huge success of our Oesophageal Cancer Awareness Project, we’re now rolling out Prostate Cancer Awareness Workshops.

We’re looking for people to get involved, whether you’d like to help make signs or share personal experiences, we’d love to have you on board.
No experience is needed, we provide everything and guide you every step of the way. ✂️✨

Your work will be displayed in public spaces, helping raise awareness where it truly matters. You can be proud knowing you’ve played a part in such a meaningful and worthwhile cause. 💙

Join us for our free Sewing for Wellbeing course starting Tuesday 18th November, 1pm–3pm at Sew Mindful Crafts in Edlington.

Day one you will learn how to use a sewing machine then each week you’ll work on a new project, building skills, confidence and friendships along the way. 🪡☕

No experience needed and all materials are provided!

We’re excited to launch our funded IT workshops, helping you gain confidence using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel in a friendly, supportive environment.

Each course runs for 3 weeks, covering all the basics in a non formal setting, and there are no exams to worry about!

💡 All laptops are provided, so there’s no need to bring anything with you.
💷 As this is a funded course, it’s heavily subsidised, making it an affordable way to build valuable digital skills.

🌸 What an exceptionally busy ( and brilliant!) day! 🌸

Today we welcomed a coach of 25 wonderful guests for a paper flower making workshop, and what a fantastic time everyone had! 💐

It was all hands on deck making sure everyone had a steady supply of hot drinks and biscuits, and it was lovely to see so many smiles and new faces, for many, it was their first visit to our venue.

We were truly touched to receive a full round of thanks and praise for providing such a warm, welcoming experience. 💖

We’re already looking forward to their next visit and more creative fun ahead! ✂️☕

Yesterday Cllr Jake Keeble collected this wonderful sewn piece of art, which will be proudly displayed at Alexander House throughout November. 🧵✨

This beautiful piece celebrates the history and heritage of our local mining communities — each panel telling a part of the story of the Doncaster Coal Fields (1956–2015).

A huge thank you to Mick and everyone at Sew Mindful Crafts CIC for creating and preserving this amazing artwork for future generations to enjoy. 💛

You’ll have your first chance to see this incredible piece in person on Sunday 9th November during our Remembrance Service at Alexander House. ❤️

We’re so excited to share an update on our Free Community Sewing Project, a creative, feel-good activity designed to support mental health, wellbeing, and reduce social isolation 💕

🧵 No experience needed!
Most of our participants had never used a sewing machine before but now they love it and can’t believe what they’ve achieved!

✨ What you’ll learn:
✅ How to use a sewing machine
✅ How to cut and prepare your fabric
✅ How to sew everything together to create your very own themed panel

💬 ( Optional ) You’ll even have the chance to record a short story about your design! When your piece is displayed, visitors can scan a QR code to hear your story, a wonderful way to share your creativity and inspire others.

I It was a pleasure to hand over our miners-themed wall hanging today to Jake from The Jackson Hope Foundation🖤⛏️

This beautiful piece has been loaned to Askern Town Council for public display, a wonderful way to showcase the amazing work created by members of our community.
