Ovarian Cancer Awareness is a reminder to know the symptoms and act early.

Symptoms can be vague and may include:

- persistent bloating
- tummy pain
- feeling full quickly
- needing to wee more often
- unexplained changes in appetite

If you notice ongoing symptoms that are unusual for you, it’s important to speak to your GP. When discussing symptoms, let your doctor know about any family history of cancer, not just ovarian cancer and not only in parents or siblings, as this can help assess your overall risk.

Keeping up to date with cervical screening when invited is also an important part of protecting your gynaecological health. Early action can make a real difference. 🎗️💙🩺✨

Doncaster North PCN - Extended Access Appointments

These additional appointments outside the core surgery hours are delivered by a range of healthcare professionals, including GPs, nurses, HCAs, pharmacists, ANPs and physiotherapists.

Appointment availability includes some early mornings, some Evenings, and Saturdays (physio only).

👥📲 Appointments are offered as a suitable mix of face-to-face and telephone consultations.

⌚ If you need an appointment outside of usual opening hours e.g. before or after work or school, please speak to your Reception Team to check availability.

👀 48 out of core hour appointments were missed in January. It is important to tell your Reception staff as soon as possible if you can't attend so the appointment can be offered to someone who may need it!

Ride, Stride and Thrive 🚴✨

We’re excited to highlight this FREE Active Travel Social Prescribing programme delivered by City of Doncaster Council.

This initiative supports people of all abilities to become more active through gentle, supported walking and cycling activities across Doncaster. 💪

The programme offers:

• Friendly group walks (no booking required for most sessions)
• 1-to-1 supported walks
• Cycle training for all confidence levels
• Led bike rides
• Personalised travel planning support

Activities are inclusive and suitable for a wide range of abilities, including wheelchair users. 👩‍🦽‍➡️

Scarlet fever is a contagious infection that mainly affects children and can cause a sore throat, fever and a distinctive rash.

Early recognition and treatment are important to help reduce the risk of complications and limit spread. Community pharmacies can also offer advice on managing symptoms and when further medical care is needed, making them a helpful first point of contact for many minor illnesses.
