What an incredible day for Autism Plus X AmbiSpace Ltd , celebrating the Nook Stop at Frenchgate Shopping Centre , which will officially be open Wednesday to Sunday from mid April, thanks to an amazing £159,100 National Lottery Community Fund grant. This funding has allowed Autism Plus to welcome two fantastic new team members strengthening the support available for neurodivergent people in Doncaster.
Autism Plus are delighted to introduce:
Hollis Cox, previously a support worker and team leader supporting autistic adults, bringing hands‑on experience and deep understanding of neurodivergent needs.
Becky Watson, formerly with the NHS, with extensive experience across mental health services and neuro wards, adding invaluable expertise to the team.
We were honoured to welcome Mayor Ros Jones , Mayor of Doncaster, and Sue Farmer, Doncaster Council councillor and passionate advocate for neurodivergent people. Their presence and support highlight how vital community‑driven inclusion is for our city of Doncaster.
Autism Plus's Suzanne Eusman FIEP and Katie Mitchell also met with Jillian Goodison, South Yorkshire Youth Coordinator, to celebrate their growing partnership with the Job Centre. Together, they are working to create more pathways into employment for 18–24-year-olds with SEND. This will aim at ensuring they have the opportunities, support, and environments they need and deserve.
A special shout‑out to Abbie, who represented AmbiSpace brilliantly at the event. She did an exceptional job explaining the benefits of our Sensory Nooks, engaging with visitors, and interviewing the two new Autism Plus staff members. Your professionalism and passion shone through, well done, Abbie! 💪 💜
