💜 It’s thanks to our dedicated specialist teams that we can provide high quality, person-centred support across both care and employment services.

A huge shout‑out to Abbie from AmbiSpace Ltd, who recently did an exceptional job interviewing Hollis Cox and Becky Watson, the two new full‑time employees at the Autism Plus Nook Stop in Doncaster’s Frenchgate Shopping Centre. Abbie represented AmbiSpace with professionalism, warmth, and a genuine passion for sensory inclusion, helping visitors understand the impact of Sensory Nooks and the wider support available.

Becky Watson joins the Autism Plus team from the NHS, where she worked across mental health services and neuro wards. Her extensive knowledge, empathy, and clinical insight add real strength to the support offered at the Nook Stop.

Hollis Cox brings invaluable hands‑on experience from his years as a support worker and team leader supporting autistic adults. His deep understanding of neurodivergent needs and his calm, person‑centred approach make him a fantastic addition to the Autism Plus team.

Why Hiring Neurodivergent People Matters

Neurodivergent individuals bring creativity, focus, problem‑solving skills, and unique perspectives that enrich workplaces and communities. When organisations embrace neurodiversity, they unlock talent, innovation, and a deeper culture of inclusion.

Autism Plus continues to do exceptional work advocating for and supporting the neurodiverse community. Their dedication, compassion, and commitment to inclusion make a real difference, and AmbiSpace is proud to work alongside them. 💜 💪

Here’s to continued collaboration, stronger support, and creating spaces where everyone feels understood and valued.

What an incredible day for Autism Plus X AmbiSpace Ltd , celebrating the Nook Stop at Frenchgate Shopping Centre , which will officially be open Wednesday to Sunday from mid April, thanks to an amazing £159,100 National Lottery Community Fund grant. This funding has allowed Autism Plus to welcome two fantastic new team members strengthening the support available for neurodivergent people in Doncaster.

Autism Plus are delighted to introduce:

Hollis Cox, previously a support worker and team leader supporting autistic adults, bringing hands‑on experience and deep understanding of neurodivergent needs.

Becky Watson, formerly with the NHS, with extensive experience across mental health services and neuro wards, adding invaluable expertise to the team.

We were honoured to welcome Mayor Ros Jones , Mayor of Doncaster, and Sue Farmer, Doncaster Council councillor and passionate advocate for neurodivergent people. Their presence and support highlight how vital community‑driven inclusion is for our city of Doncaster.

Autism Plus's Suzanne Eusman FIEP and Katie Mitchell also met with Jillian Goodison, South Yorkshire Youth Coordinator, to celebrate their growing partnership with the Job Centre. Together, they are working to create more pathways into employment for 18–24-year-olds with SEND. This will aim at ensuring they have the opportunities, support, and environments they need and deserve.

A special shout‑out to Abbie, who represented AmbiSpace brilliantly at the event. She did an exceptional job explaining the benefits of our Sensory Nooks, engaging with visitors, and interviewing the two new Autism Plus staff members. Your professionalism and passion shone through, well done, Abbie! 💪 💜

💙 Staff Spotlight: Amy 💙

We’re proud to recognise Amy for her outstanding professionalism.

While supporting someone in our Supported Living service in Thorne, Amy faced a challenging situation in the community. She stayed calm, reassuring, and fully focused on the person’s wellbeing, helping them feel safe and supported.

A colleague noticed her compassionate, person-centred approach and took the time to highlight it - and we couldn’t agree more!

Thank you, Amy, for your dedication and for making such a positive difference every day.
