April is Autism Awareness Month, a time to celebrate autism, raise understanding, and create more inclusive opportunities in our communities. ๐
This year, weโre bringing back our Gaming for Autism Challenge, inviting you to take on 12 hours of gaming, your way. Whether you play solo, with friends, or stream online, itโs a chance to have fun while raising funds to support autistic people and people with learning disabilities through Autism Plus.
Weโre also marking World Autism Awareness Day on Thursday 2 April with a special event at our Nook Stop in Doncaster. On the day, weโll be celebrating new National Lottery funding for the Nook Stop, alongside the launch of our Doncaster SEND Youth Hub programme, helping more young people build confidence, skills, and pathways into employment.
Throughout the month, there are lots of ways to get involved. Our employment services team will be hosting mock interviews, CV workshops, and supporting people to take their next steps towards work. Weโll also be part of the Bridges to Work Expo at Magna, bringing together opportunities, advice, and support in one place.
However you get involved, by gaming, joining an event, or spreading the word, youโre helping to build awareness with us. ๐ฎ๐
