LOTIONS AND POTIONS!! 😜

We have some dear friends whose three kids all have some additional needs. A few years ago while visiting I made some blends to aid with sleep and emotional regulation for them. It helped! Of course!! 😜

Whenever I go visit I bring my kit and blend up some fresh sniffy sticks for them to use. Their one daughter met me at the door for a visit a couple years ago with a hug 🤗 and the question….. “Aunty Deedee did you bring your lotions and potions?” 🤣

On a recent visit, their dad caught a rare photo of me in action making up a blended sniffy stick (nasal inhaler). I guess when you love what you do it’s just a natural overflow to seek to help those you love whenever you have the chance. 😁🥰

So here is a rare photo of a Clinical Aromatherapist in the wild blending up ‘lotions and potions’ for those in need. 😉😘 It’s more than a ‘job’ - it’s a passion! 🤗👣💆🏻‍♀️🕊️🫶🏻

NATIONAL ANSOMIA DAY!! 👃🏻

This is a sad condition in which a person loses their sense of smell. 😢

In recent years we have all learned that this can be a symptom of a virus or even a long term side effect following an illness.

However, did you know that some anosmia can be improved by the use of smell training with natural essential oils?

Some specific oils can start to trigger the olfactory system to start up again and help people regain partial or complete sense of smell once again. 🥳

I occasionally have clients who inform me they can’t smell anything when I am working with them with aromatherapy. However, quite often I can see in their eyes that their brain has reacted to certain oils. After a while they often report that they start being able to smell several of the oils I have them sniff.

It often starts with the ones they dislike! 👎🏻 Soon though they start being able to smell some that they really like as well.

This past Monday I wore this sweatshirt all day.

It’s a Mets sweatshirt which is an American baseball team that my Dad supported. The rest of our family are Yankee fans but when I was a girl I had a crush on a Mets player so decided to be a lifelong Mets fan with my Dad. 💙🧡

When my Dad moved into the care home and my Mom cleared a lot of his things out, she offered me some of his Mets things. This sweatshirt, a fleece blanket and a Christmas tree ornament.

On Monday I wore this (HUGE on me) sweatshirt all day. Monday night my Dad passed away. Strange how a simple sweatshirt made me feel closer all day. It was my way of saying’Goodbye’. 😢

He has battled Alzheimer’s for over 21 years so this was the end of a very long goodbye but it’s still been a difficult week. I’ve still been at work as I might as well keep busy, however please bear with me if I’m not quite my usual smiling self over the next couple of weeks.

I’m taking Saturday off to have a long, quiet weekend but other than that I will be at Shalom on my other scheduled days. Thank you all for understanding. 🫶🏻🕊️

THUMB APPRECIATION DAY!!

(Yes really! I’m not making this up!)

In appreciation of my thumbs I’d have to say that the are vital in the work I love so much. 🫶🏻 Whether a massage or reflexology, thumbs play an important role.

Nothing brightens a day like waking up to a five star review!! 🤩😁

This gentleman surprised two lovely ladies in his life with a treatment each as a Christmas present. 🎁 Yesterday they both came to enjoy their wellbeing time and then met up with him afterwards.

Last night he sent this review! He also messaged me yesterday evening and commented on how relaxed they both seemed. I really do love my job!! 🤗👣💆🏻‍♀️🕊️

WOW!! 😲
It has been a whirlwind January so far!! I landed back on Sunday, popped in to the treatment room to take down Christmas and prepare for clients on Monday.

Then I hit the ground running on Tuesday morning! Full diary for Tuesday and Wednesday. Then taking down Christmas at home Thursday followed by shopping and a little self care with a visit to the chiropractor.

Yesterday was another full diary day as is today! 😮‍💨 Good thing I love what I do. 😉 Next week is nearly as full as I think I only have one available slot next week left.

So get in quick for February as it is already starting to get full. Thank you for your business and for trusting me with your wellbeing - I am truly grateful! ☺️ Praying this is the start of a great year and a full diary! 🤗👣💆🏻‍♀️🕊️

I’m back!! We’ve landed back in the UK although it’s safe to say that a piece of my heart is still in the USA! 🫶🏻

Our last day brought snow play with my little buddy and buying him his first baseball cap from GAP! 🧢 (his daddy’s first job at 16 was working for GAP at Lakeside!)

For now I need sleep!💤 Then tomorrow I will pop into the treatment room to get everything ready to hit the ground running Tuesday morning!! It’s a full schedule for the next to weeks but I still have availability for first week of February. Looking forward to seeing you all soon! 💆🏻‍♀️👣🤗🕊️

Today is my Birthday!! 🎉

I LOVE Birthdays!! 🎂 I am always grateful for another year with my wonderful family and doing a career that I find so rewarding!!

I am not the least bit precious about my age and am happy to tell any who asks that today I turn 54. 😁 However I had quite a giggle earlier this week about my age.

When we went into my son’s work, I hugged him on the way out as we left. Evidently one of his colleagues asked him who the lady was who hugged him and he said ‘that’s my Mom’.

His colleague said that couldn’t be possible because she must only be in her 30’s! He thought I was one of my daughter in law’s friends. 🤣 My son assured him I really was his Mom and definitely old enough to be.

What a confidence boost though for someone to think I was a a good 2 decades younger than I am. I guess that’s a great sales pitch for all those Neals Yard products I use and sell. I guess all the essential oils I work with daily help too. 😜

Off now to celebrate with my family today! 🥳🎂🎊🎈🎉🎁🤩

KIDS REFLEX FOR THE WIN!! 👣

This amazing outcome is close to my heart! ❤️

Before Christmas my little grandson had his one year well-baby check and it included a few vaccines. 😢 Normally my DIL has used TCRP (The children’s reflexology program) pre and post vaccination routines when he has had them but due to some schedule insanity she hadn’t realised he was having any that day.

He was VERY unhappy after these particular ones and cried for a few hours. He finally cried himself to sleep only to wake up after about an hour screaming before he even opened his eyes. 😭 Poor little fella was completely inconsolable. 💔

I was at the treatment room so offered to talk her through the routine to save her the hassle of hunting the leaflets out.

She got just halfway through the routine and he smiled and giggled at her kissing his toes!! 😊😍 For the second half of it he was cooing and babbling happily!!

It was the most dramatic and swift result I’ve ever seen in a baby/toddler!! From being completely inconsolable for hours; he returned to his smiley, cuddly self in the space of the fifteen minutes it took to run through a simple kid reflexology routine! 👣

Hi all! On my holiday yesterday I enjoyed taking my little grandson to Sesame Place! I was busy taking the pictures and snuck in a cuddle with Bert and Ernie!! 🫣😜🤣 I’m just a big kid at heart!!
