What a wonderful day at the centre! 🐍🦨🐹

We were thrilled to welcome Leanimals, who brought along an amazing variety of animals for our clients to see, touch and hold. From a curious snake, to an adorable skunk, and some very cuddly guinea pigs, there was plenty to spark smiles, conversation and memories 💛
Animal visits like this are so special for people living with dementia, the sensory experience, gentle interaction and shared excitement create real moments of joy and connection. The room was full of laughter, curiosity and a few brave cuddles too!
A huge thank you to Leanimals for such a patient, engaging and unforgettable visit. We’re still talking about it 🥰🐾

This past week, one of our incredible Inspire Befrienders supported a client to attend a football match, something they wouldn’t have been able to manage alone due to social isolation.

From the buzz of the crowd to sharing memories sparked by the game, it was about so much more than football. It was about connection, confidence, and feeling part of the community.

This is the power of befriending: opening doors, creating joy, and making sure no one misses out on the experiences they love 💙

Dementia doesn’t just affect the person living with the diagnosis, it touches everyone around them.

Partners, children, friends, neighbours… suddenly everyday life changes. Roles shift. Conversations feel different. There can be love, confusion, grief, laughter, exhaustion, often all at once.

At the heart of dementia care isn’t just supporting the individual, but supporting the whole network around them. The families doing their best. The carers holding everything together. The friends who don’t always know what to say but still want to show up.

No one should feel they have to navigate dementia alone. Compassion, understanding and community make all the difference. 💙
