5 things I’ve learnt the hard way setting up my own business…

1. It’s 24/7… 365 days a year.

No clocking off at 5

There’s not a day gone by where the first thing I’ve thought about isn’t my business

You tell yourself to have time away and switch your phone off but it never happens

2. You feel guilty every single hour you’re not working on the business

I find myself getting agitated and aggy with myself when I’m out with my family at times like if I’m wasting time

In reality I’d go insane without that time

3. You never ever feel like you get done what you needed to do

Every morning I make a to do list and it actually gets bigger by the time I go bed 🤣

4. You need a good support network at home.

I’m so lucky I’ve got the best fiance who keeps the house running and takes care of the kids without me for 90% of the time while I’m at work

5. It’s the best job in the world.

For all the stress, headaches, sleepless nights and everything else..

Waking up every morning knowing it’s your business and the desire to build something special is something I wouldn’t change for anything

Week 6 post ACL & LCL reconstruction and hamstring repair… and is absolutely flying.

This is what happens when you start rehab properly from week 1.

Clear plan.

Proper coaching.

No guessing.

Harvey is a semi professional footballer & the goal is 9 months back playing.
And at the rate he’s going… he’ll smash that.

In this phase we’re working on building control, strength and confidence in that knee before we push into the next stage and look at return him back to running.

And it’s probably not the reason you think.

1ļøāƒ£ You stopped too early
Most people stop rehab the second the pain eases.
Pain-free doesn’t mean you’re strong enough yet.
That’s why it keeps returning when you try to run, squat, or train again.

2ļøāƒ£ You’re doing generic exercises
Stuff from Google. YouTube. TikTok.
Or the classic exercise sheet.
Your knee needs a plan that’s built for you, not a template.

3ļøāƒ£ You’re avoiding the movements you actually need
A lot of people avoid bending, loading, or
training the knee because they’re scared of making it worse.
But that avoidance usually makes things tighter, weaker, and more painful.

4ļøāƒ£ No progression
You can’t keep doing the same 3 exercises forever.
Recovery needs progression — load, speed, strength, control.
If it’s not progressing, neither will your knee.

5ļøāƒ£ You don’t understand the cause
Pain is the symptom.
The cause might be your hips, ankle mobility, strength imbalance, training habits…
Until you know why it’s happening, it’ll keep happening.

Knee pain isn’t something you just ā€œlive with.ā€
You just need the right plan, done properly, with
someone explaining it in a way that finally makes
sense.

Just things that genuinely help your body recover, feel better, and perform better.

Vitamin D – most people in the UK are low. Helps with energy, mood, joints, and overall recovery.ļæ½
Creatine – brilliant if you train. Strength, power, muscle maintenance, proper recovery.ļæ½
Magnesium – helps you switch off, sleep better, reduce cramps and tightness.ļæ½
Protein – technically not a supplement but the most important! Most people massively under-eat it. 1.5-2kg per BW per day needed. Essential for repair, strength, and recovery.

Ice baths, hot baths or warm showers… which is the best post workout and why?!

A new study shows that a post-workout bath boosted strength gains by nearly 10% - double the benefit seen with a hot shower and the opposite to cold plunges which can stunt growth.

Here’s why:ā€Øā™Øļø Heat immersion after resistance training improves circulation, oxygen delivery, and mitochondrial efficiency.

🧬 It also activates heat shock proteins that protect and repair muscle tissue - amplifying recovery and growth.

In contrast, cold plunges can blunt muscle hypertrophy, reducing anabolic signaling and satellite cell activation.

So if your goal is strength and size, skip the ice bath and sink into the heat instead šŸ’ŖšŸ¼

However, if you are opting for fast recovery, ice bath can be a useful tool and can reduce inflammation, just expect a limit on gains!
