💔 Sadly, this is so true. We’re seeing more and more impatience on the roads during funeral cortèges — even with our horses. Please, let’s all help spread this message. A final journey deserves respect and dignity. 🤍
Sadly this is so heartbreakingly true 💔 Just lately we are having more and more drivers on the roads being impatient and trying to push in on the Funeral Cortège’s in between the Hearse and the Limousines with bereaved family members in, and even on funerals with our horses too.
This is happening to the point where accidents have nearly been caused because someone just wants to cut in or to cut through.
I appreciate we drive slower, but this is someone’s final journey, and this is done out of respect.
Whether this makes you 30 seconds, one minute or two minutes late for where you need to be, think about that person who has passed and the families that are following.
A final journey is so precious 🤍

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of John McLaughlin on 13th October, aged 68 years.
John’s gentle spirit and generous heart touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His laughter filled rooms, his kindness lifted spirits, and his presence made life a little brighter for all around him.
A Celebration of John’s Life will take place at Rose Hill Crematorium on Thursday, 23rd October at 1:00pm, followed by a gathering at The Foresters Arms, Village Street, Adwick le Street, where we will share stories, memories, and raise a glass in his honour.
Though he may be gone from our sight, John will forever remain in our hearts — a cherished soul, remembered with love, warmth, and gratitude. 💐
The family of Barbara O’Keeffe are deeply saddened to share that Barbara peacefully passed away on 8th October 2025.
Barbara, beloved wife of John, mother to Nigel and Paul, step-mother to John and cherished grandmother to Jessica, Joshua, Jacob and Jude.
Barbara was a lady of few words, known for her quiet strength and warm, gentle smile.
Family and friends are warmly invited to join in celebrating her life on Wednesday , 29th October at 12 noon at Memoria Doncaster & South Yorkshire Memorial Park & Crematorium
The funeral procession will leave the family home at 11:30am.
Family flowers only, please. Donations in Barbara’s memory are kindly welcomed for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Following the service, all are welcome to join the family to continue a celebration of Barbara’s life at The Holiday Inn, Warmsworth, Doncaster (DN4 9JX).
If you wish to join the family afterwards, please let them know so that suitable arrangements can be made with the venue.

Funeral Notice
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Timothy John Smith, of Sprotbrough, who sadly left us on 29th September, aged 42 years.
Tim was loved by so many — whose humour, kindness, and big heart brought joy to everyone who knew him. He had a special way of making people smile, and his warmth will be remembered always, he is now at peace, reunited with his cherished mum and dad.
A service to celebrate Tim’s life will be held on Monday 20th October at 1:30pm at St Mary’s Church, Sprotbrough, and everyone who knew Tim is more than welcome to attend and pay their respects.
The committal service at Memoria Doncaster & South Yorkshire Memorial Park & Crematorium will be for family only, as they take a private moment to say their goodbyes to Tim.
Afterwards, everyone is warmly invited to join the family at Woodfield Social Club, Balby (DN4 8HL) to continue celebrating Tim’s life and share memories together.
Family flowers only please, but donations in lieu of flowers can be made for St John’s Hospice, in loving memory of Tim.
Gone too soon, but never forgotten — his laughter, love, and light will stay with us forever.

As of 9th July 2019, we are extremely proud that we have managed to help 71 families from Doncaster to afford a respectful funeral service for their loved one.
I must confess that when I embarked on this new project, to provide a new funeral service with a justifiable and transparent pricing structure, it was a leap of faith. From the relative security of employment with a national company and into the unknown outcomes of self employment. Darren (our other director) and I felt that it was the opportune time to introduce this service for the benefit of Doncaster and it’s residents.
The feedback we have received from the families we have helped is amazing and it is filling us with the impetus that we need to carry on with our aims to be not only the best, but the most affordable and ethical funeral director in the region.
As a Community Interest Company we are able to re-invest our profits back into the business to enable us to be sustainable and help many more families for years to come. With our partnership with Ecclesiastical Planning Service (AKA Royal London) we are able to provide a range of funeral planning products to allow you to responsibly plan for your own future without leaving the burden to those left behind. Typically, our funeral plans are between £1000-2000 cheaper than any of our local competitors.
We are also proud to have purchased our first fleet of Mason’s Black Daimler hearse and 8 seat limousine.
As we expand our business and better the services we offer we have opened up the opportunity to employ a Business Administration apprentice from the local area to compliment our existing office and driving staff. In total (including our staff based in Barnsley) we provide employment for 9 local people which is also something we are very proud of.
We officially opened our doors for trading on 3rd December 2018 and have achieved all this in our first 7 months of service to you. I believe this is testament to the fact that the people of Doncaster believe in our mission to drive down the cost of a dignified funeral.
