We gathered in the Doncaster Funerals chapel today to say farewell to Sal with her own poetry, the lullaby she sang to her daughter, her favourite prayer, and memories recalled with laughter and smiles.
It was an honour for Sym and I to support her family. 💞

It was a gentle goodbye to Tish yesterday at Rose Hill. Her son read a poem for her, music she loved was played, family and friends gathered to pay their respects.
Her love of pink was reflected in the gorgeous roses hydes florist used for her floral tribute.

It was such an honour to celebrate Ange’s life on Friday alongside Mel & Sym from Doncaster Funerals at Memoria Doncaster & South Yorkshire Memorial Park & Crematorium. We shared a wealth of wonderful memories, a tribute from her colleagues, poetry, music she loved, her favourite flowers, and even the technical glitch celebrated Ange and her IT ‘skills’. 💞
We will all miss you, Ange, but none more than the family you loved. ✨

🤍 Words we felt were worth sharing 🤍
Grief looks different for everyone, and sometimes someone else finds the words we can’t. This beautifully written reflection gently reminds us that grief comes in waves — and that stepping back to breathe is not a setback, but part of healing.
If this resonates with you today, please know you’re not alone.
Shared with appreciation from 🤍
For
Grief isn’t a straight line; it’s more like the ocean. 🌊
Just when you think you’ve found your footing and the waters have calmed, it hits you—that sudden, heavy "thump" in the stomach. Out of nowhere, the feelings come flooding back, and for a moment, the world stands still.
In these moments, words often fail. You can't explain it to others, and honestly, you don't want to. You just need to be alone with your thoughts, your memories, and the weight of it all. It’s not about moving backward; it’s about processing a love that never left.
And then, just as suddenly as the wave arrived, it recedes. You find your breath, you stand back up, and you start functioning again.
If you’re feeling this today, know that it’s okay to step away and just be. You aren’t losing progress—you’re just navigating the waves. 🤍

As of 9th July 2019, we are extremely proud that we have managed to help 71 families from Doncaster to afford a respectful funeral service for their loved one.
I must confess that when I embarked on this new project, to provide a new funeral service with a justifiable and transparent pricing structure, it was a leap of faith. From the relative security of employment with a national company and into the unknown outcomes of self employment. Darren (our other director) and I felt that it was the opportune time to introduce this service for the benefit of Doncaster and it’s residents.
The feedback we have received from the families we have helped is amazing and it is filling us with the impetus that we need to carry on with our aims to be not only the best, but the most affordable and ethical funeral director in the region.
As a Community Interest Company we are able to re-invest our profits back into the business to enable us to be sustainable and help many more families for years to come. With our partnership with Ecclesiastical Planning Service (AKA Royal London) we are able to provide a range of funeral planning products to allow you to responsibly plan for your own future without leaving the burden to those left behind. Typically, our funeral plans are between £1000-2000 cheaper than any of our local competitors.
We are also proud to have purchased our first fleet of Mason’s Black Daimler hearse and 8 seat limousine.
As we expand our business and better the services we offer we have opened up the opportunity to employ a Business Administration apprentice from the local area to compliment our existing office and driving staff. In total (including our staff based in Barnsley) we provide employment for 9 local people which is also something we are very proud of.
We officially opened our doors for trading on 3rd December 2018 and have achieved all this in our first 7 months of service to you. I believe this is testament to the fact that the people of Doncaster believe in our mission to drive down the cost of a dignified funeral. With Doncaster Municipal Funerals you can rest assured that your loved one and their wishes will be taken care of in the best possible way and that our affordable pricing structure will not leave you in unmanageable debt as a result.
