𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐨 𝐈 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐲 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐥𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐱𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭?
So many clients ask why they need to see a prescriber before treatment with botulinum toxin.
Toxin is a 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒑𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 medication and therefore can only be prescribed by a prescriber. Prescribers charge for their time and expertise to come out and perform a face to face consultation with the client, covering full medical history and consent before a prescription can be issued for that client.
The prescriber also provides clinical oversight to the qualified practitioner administering the treatment.
Botulinum Toxin is never stored in clinic, the prescription stays with the pharmacy until the client is ready to receive the treatment.
The prescription for the toxin expires 6 months from being approved. If the client does not have the wrinkle relaxing treatment within this timeframe, then the prescription will no longer be valid and the treatment will not be able to take place.
