Thank you Huxley!! And well done! 💪🎉

Thank you Thursday! 👏
A huge thank you and congratulations to Huxley Irish for completing a 7-mile walk and raising a fantastic £586.25 towards the Kingfisher Ward Dorset County Hospital. Huxley’s message to the ward is: “You’re a superstar hospital for helping me when I had epilepsy.”
What an amazing achievement, thank you so much! 💙💚💛

A huge thank you to Theo and his mum, Sheryl, for arranging for us to have an End of Treatment Bell on our ward. We were so happy to watch Theo ring the bell after completing his treatment and send our best wishes to Theo and his family. 🤗

Thank you so much, DocBike Dorset!🥰

Just before Christmas, DCH was very lucky to have a visit from Santa's riders from DocBike Dorset. A charity that works alongside our emergency services to provide roadside critical care and works to eradicate motorcycle deaths through engagement, education and injury prevention initiatives.

They collected a huge number of toys to hand out to children on Kingfisher Ward Dorset County Hospital over the festive period. We are so grateful for their generosity!

We are incredibly grateful for this wonderful donation from Weymouth Rotary and for the ongoing support from The Leggomen!

We want to say another huge thank you to Weymouth Rotary Club for a further £500 donated to Kingfisher Ward Dorset County Hospital. The funds were raised from their Fayre in the Square event in May where the band The Leggomen performed.

Richard Burgess from the Weymouth Rotary, and Olly and Ben from the band visited the ward which allowed us to thank them in person for their donation.

The Leggomen chose to support Kingfisher Ward after the care Ben’s daughter received earlier this year. Ben said “My daughter Ayla Mae is a picture of health now, but I dread to think what the alternative would have been without the talented and caring professionals within the Kingfisher Ward. The Rotary Club support local charities and they asked us if we knew of anywhere we thought their hard-earned money could go - complete no-brainer. We cannot thank you all enough!”

It’s just a couple of days until the 2024 Dorset Sunflower Trail opens at Maiden Castle Farm in Dorchester. This is the fourth year Hazel Hoskin and her family have supported Dorset County Hospital through this amazing event, with nearly £47,000 raised so far.

The first Sunflower Trail in 2021 raised £25k to fund a Cerebral Function Monitor for the Dorchester Special Care Baby Unit. In 2022 the event supported our Kingfisher Ward Dorset County Hospital as well as a children’s hospital in Ukraine. In 2023 the sunflowers raised a further £15,400 which will be used to improve facilities for families on the SCBU.

This year Hazel is determined to reach her target of £50,000 and is supporting our Emergency and Critical Care Appeal. Don’t miss out on this stunning family experience and book your tickets today. www.maidencastlefarm.co.uk/sunflower-trail

Thank you so much Sophie! What a lovely initiative!

It was lovely to meet Sophie Faber and her mum Ami today and accept her kind donation of Feelings Frogs for Kingfisher Ward Dorset County Hospital. Sophie is the current Miss Royal Europe and for her service project she designed the Feelings Frog to encourage children to talk about and share their feelings and thoughts.
Each frog is handmade by her & her nana and are individually packed in a plastic pocket. So far, they have donated over 700 to children across the world.
Sophie is a former patient of Kingfisher Ward and wanted to give back for the wonderful care she’s received over the years.
Thank you, Sophie, for this very thoughtful gift!
