Percival Osteopaths

Percival Osteopaths Osteopathy for all the family by Percival Osteopaths. Clinics available in Litton Cheney & Clitheroe. in his repertoire using the Perrin Technique.

The Percivals have been practising osteopathy since they graduated in 1988. Robin has dedicated his osteopathic life to treating adults, from those in acute pain to those with more long term chronic musculoskeletal pain, and he includes treatment for those with M.E. Hilary and Robin work in Litton Cheney in Dorset and Clitheroe in Lancashire. Hilary has developed a more specialist osteopathic practice in treating babies, children and pregnant women using mainly cranio-sacral osteopathy which is a gentle method. We are both passionate about osteopathy and the relief and health that it can bring. To facilitate this, we are more than happy to discuss how osteopathy can help you and if you would like this, please email us at help@percivalosteopaths.co.uk prior to an appointment and do include your telephone number too.

Kendal House Clinics

In 1989 Hilary and Robin came to Clitheroe and set up an osteopathic clinic from the front room of their home on Church Brow. The clinic grew from these small beginnings up to two full time osteopathic rooms with reception cover. Within six months of opening the GP's were asking for Hilary and Robin to give a talk on osteopathy at the Medical Society meeting. Since then they have given many talks to local interest groups and this has led to appearances on Granada TV, local radio and coverage in the national Sunday papers, local newspapers and magazines such as Bella and Good Housekeeping. They are also often invited to talk to doctors and specialists at the Blackburn Post Graduate Medical Centre and at Burnley General Hospital. For several years they ran a Back School course in the local swimming pool, which was effective in helping back and neck pain sufferers. In 1992 Robin and Hilary opened satellite clinics in Longridge and Nelson as opportunities and demand rose. By 1993 working conditions at home were getting difficult with three osteopaths, full-time reception cover and a hundred-plus patients a week so they moved the clinic to the Kendal House premises whose extra space was also needed to cope with a contract from a local fund-holding G.P. practice. Kendal House with four consultation rooms allowed more osteopaths to join the team to help with expanding osteopathic case load and to let the pædiatric side to come into its own. There was also space for other complementary therapies to join osteopathy. Robin and Hilary wanted other well qualified therapists, to join them, but only those with a similar rigorous training. By this time they had a reputation to maintain and so could insist on high standards. As a result, the complementary therapists at Kendal House represent only those therapists who have had good training in their field and wish to practice it to the best standards. This has meant that the complementary side of the clinic has grown slowly but has maintained the high reputation that one has come to expect from Kendal House Clinic.
