Don't forget, local Minor Injuries Units and Urgent Treatment Centres are here for you this winter.

They can treat sprains, simple fractures, simple wounds, minor burns, minor head injuries with no loss of consciousness, minor illnesses (earaches, sore throats etc), rashes, bites, stings, infections and eye conditions like conjunctivitis.

Using your MIU or UTC allows staff at our Emergency Department to concentrate on people with serious, life-threatening conditions. You will probably see a shorter wait for your treatment too.

Find your local MIU or UTC on the Stay Well Dorset website. Find the link in the comments below.

Our teams as South Walks House certainly got into the festive spirit by creating an Advent Calendar, translating words associated with Christmas into a number of languages.

The words were translated into English, Afrikaans, Malayalam, Polish, Turkish, Hindi, Braille, French, Spanish, Italian, Yoruba, German and Welsh. And we discovered that most languages had to 'make up' a word for mince pie. A bit of fun, but also celebrating the diversity and talent of our staff at . 🎅💙
