Nothing like a Friday morning curling Championship. It was on the edge of your seat stuff today at Dorking Manor. We had some outstanding play with the wee stones. It was a battle that played out at the end between our Alex and the curling Ckween Ann. The battle came down to the last 2 stones with a mighty Victory by Ann (without an E ). Great morning !

This afternoon we had a lovely group art project where we all got involved in a great Spring themed piece. From cutting out shapes and glueing there was a lot of creative juices flowing . I think you will agree that what we have so far is very good and we will complete the masterpiece next week. Watch out Tate modern !!

What a morning here at Dorking Manor. We had the amazing Katie in doing her dancealong. Our residents were in fine form. We went from twisting to cha cha with a little Charleston thrown in. Always a blast when Katie brings her bright, enthusiastic and energised dance to us.

Puzzles and brain training this afternoon by using the maze game. We also played tell me, which is a great game for a group to play together. Lots of fun and some really creative answers from some of our residents. We also enjoyed the newly manecured gardens with a few walks.

An afternoon of reminiscing with a game called What is this? Pictures of old items and guessing what they are. We had wasp traps to old irons and strange looking nut crackers! This activity got everyone thinking and there were some great guesses.

Some of the highlights of the week here at Dorking Manor . From table tennis, walks in the garden, darts tournaments and staff appreciation day we have had plenty to celebrate this week.

This afternoon we had such a wonderful time with Kelly’s Donkeys. Caroline bought along Steve the sheep, Micky the Shetland pony, Percy the donkey, flopsy and thumper the rabbits and custard, cookie and hob nob the guinea pigs. Our residents and team enjoyed petting and making a fuss of them all. Thank you Caroline for such a great afternoon and who knew a pony could go in a lift!! 🐴 🫏 🐑 🐰 🐹 ❤️

For world book day we became creative and with the help from Chris & John, Brian’s daughter and son in law we created a collective poem celebrating Dorking manor. It was a piece that had contributions from us all. We also had the pleasure of some of Brian’s verse being read out to us by Chris & John. Thank you very much to you both for a fun afternoon .
