Hi,
I haven’t posted for a while and fully admit, I need to get better at this side of social media. It seems that we are here again, coming towards the end of Mental Health Awareness Week. I believe any form of advertisement or awareness can only be a good thing. It also reinforces how quick time can pass by. Mental health is now more commonly discussed in every arena than before, but I believe there is still a stigma towards those who suffer with poor mental health. I now hear of more people reaching out than hiding under the pretence of feeling fine. People with busy lives and even busier minds are finding things difficult to process and finding time to slow things to a point where they can gain any form of clarity. Add to that the constant pressures of ‘living’ and there is a growing melting pot of things that sometimes feel overwhelming, and reinforce the feelings and thoughts that we can’t move forward. To me, mental health awareness is about bringing to the surface, the dangers and consequences of poor mental health. It is a reminder that elements, like the weather, can change quickly, good and bad. “Awareness Creates Choice, Courage Creates Change.”
What does mental health awareness mean to you? Just a question, no judgment.
