For Autumn, heading into winter, I have gone with a very grounding & restorative Autumn Ritual Blend 🍂

To bring balance, rest, and that post-treatment calm we’re all craving this time of year.

1. Beware the real energy vampires — they don’t wear capes, they hide in your habits.

They drain you through doom scrolling, shallow breaths, skipped meals and saying yes when your body says no.

Protect your light with rest, warmth, boundaries and grounding touch. 🥀

2. Your kitchen is your apothecary.

Honey for the throat, lemon & ginger to awaken, chamomile & lavender to calm.

Each sip is modern alchemy — the way you tend to yourself, daily. 🔮

3. Ghost your stress.

Turn off the noise, breathe, drop your shoulders.

Your body wasn’t built for constant alertness — rest is your most radical spell. 👻

4. A little moonlit magic.

Release what’s been haunting you, then light a candle for what you’re calling in — peace, ease, expansion.

What if the body isn’t just a vessel, but a map of story and sensation?

Recent science shows that many emotions aren’t simply up in the mind — we feel them in our bodies. In one landmark study, distinct feelings (joy, sadness, anger, fear) were reliably linked to specific bodily sensations and regions.

And when we talk about “storing emotions” in our shoulders, hips, stomach or back — there’s a soft, meaningful truth to it: interoceptive signals (our internal body-sensing) and past bodily memories shape how we respond emotionally today. 

Let me invite you into the stillness of your body’s intelligence. The rich oils and aromas, gentle rhythms, intentional space — all designed not just for relaxation, but to let the body speak what words can’t.

What unfolded in this spread felt like a map — from celebration and recognition, to leading with compassion, to standing at the edge of something new. 🌕

Sometimes I pull cards as a mirror ✨ a way to pause, check in, and ask: am I on track? Ahead of the Blood Moon Eclipse, I drew 3 of Cups, 6 of Wands, King & Queen of Cups, and the 2 of Wands.

The message feels clear: community, recognition, balance, and vision. The 3 of Cups reminds me to lean into joy, celebration, and the people who lift me. The 6 of Wands is a sign of shared victory — the kind that doesn’t just belong to me, but ripples through the circle I’m part of. The King and Queen of Cups show a union of intuition and wisdom, compassion and steadiness — a call to lead with heart while staying emotionally grounded. And the 2 of Wands feels like a threshold moment, planning the next horizon, standing between where I’ve been and where I’m heading. 🌙

Through a TCM lens, the elements flow in harmony here: the Heart’s joy and connection (Fire), the Liver’s vision and smooth Qi (Wood), the Kidney’s depth and resilience (Water), and the Spleen’s nourishing yin (Earth). Together they remind me that success comes when Qi flows freely, when yin and yang are in balance, and when both action and rest are honoured. This eclipse energy feels like an invitation to realign — to release what no longer supports me, and to step forward with clarity, compassion, and trust.

Pulling cards before big lunar shifts gives me a point of reference for journaling ✨ a way to anchor reflection, map where my energy is flowing, and notice where I may need to soften, restore, or expand.

🌕 The Moon:
The Grain Moon is August’s full moon—traditionally a harvest marker. In TCM, full moons are peak-Yang moments: energy and emotions are heightened, Qi moves strongly, and the body’s fluids and circulation are at their fullest. It’s a time of both abundance and potential overextension.

🌏 The Season:
In the Chinese seasonal calendar, early-to-mid August sits in Late Summer, linked to the Earth element and the Spleen/Stomach system. This is our “centre”—the point of balance between the outward Fire energy of high summer and the inward Metal energy of autumn.



How They Interact
• Abundance & Nourishment
The Grain Moon literally mirrors the Earth element’s theme: harvest, grain, nourishment, and the stability of being fed—physically and emotionally. It’s a reminder to take stock of what you’ve grown this year and to truly absorb it, instead of rushing to the next thing.

• Digesting More than Food

In TCM, the Spleen doesn’t just digest what’s on your plate—it processes thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Under a full moon in late summer, mental overactivity and worry can be amplified. Gentle, grounding foods and slow, mindful eating help to calm the system.

• Dampness & Overflow

Full moon + late summer dampness can make the body feel heavy, puffy, or sluggish. Avoid excess sugar, greasy foods, or too much raw/cold food to keep the Spleen strong.

• Grounding the Peak Energy

Full moons pull Qi upward—great for clarity, but it can lead to restlessness or insomnia. Pair that with late summer’s Earth energy by grounding: go barefoot, take a slow walk after moonrise, or enjoy a warm herbal tea before bed.



Seasonal Ritual Suggestions
• Harvest Journal — Write down 3 things you’ve “harvested” this year (skills, relationships, self-insights). This strengthens Spleen energy by integrating experiences.
• Moon Bath + Tea — Sit outside under the moon with a cup of chamomile or roasted barley tea to ground and aid digestion.
• Seasonal Supper — Make a meal with golden, late summer foods like sweetcorn, squash, and millet. Eat slowly, with gratitude.
