Cervical Screening results
Some cervical screening results are now being sent through the NHS App.

If your result is normal, you’ll receive it securely in the app.
You’ll still get a letter in the post if you don’t have the app, or if more tests are needed.

Here’s what to do:

🌿 Social Prescribing Day 2026 🌿
Today we’re celebrating the incredible role Social Prescribers play in supporting people’s health and wellbeing. By connecting individuals to community groups, activities, and local support, Social Prescribers help people feel more connected, improve mental wellbeing, and take positive steps towards healthier lives.

The Christchurch Primary Care Network Social Prescribing Team is currently running a weekly wellbeing walk every Tuesday morning at 11am – a great opportunity to get moving, meet others, and boost your wellbeing.

We’re also launching a monthly Menopause Support Group and a Fibromyalgia Support Group to provide safe, supportive spaces for those who may benefit.

If you’re interested in joining any of these, please contact your GP practice for more information on how to get involved.

Open Afternoon at Dorset Breast Screening Unit – Friday 27th March 2026

We are pleased to share that Dorset Breast Screening Unit is holding a special open afternoon for ladies with learning disabilities. This is a chance to visit the unit, see the mammogram rooms, explore equipment in a hands-on way, and find out more about the services available.

No other clinics will be running at this time, so it’s a relaxed, sensory-friendly opportunity designed to help reduce any anxiety about attending appointments.

Representatives from breast, bowel, and LiveWell Dorset will also be on hand to provide information and support.

📝 Have your say on learning disability services

NHS England is asking people with a learning disability (18+) and their families or carers to share their experiences of care over the past year.

The survey is anonymous and helps NHS trusts understand what’s working well and where things could improve. Patients can complete it with help from a family member or carer.

There is currently no cause for concern or outbreak of meningitis in Dorset. However, the NHS is encouraging everyone to stay aware of the signs and symptoms, and to make sure you and your children are up to date with routine vaccinations.

Meningitis can be serious, so knowing what to look out for and seeking medical help promptly if symptoms develop is important.

Cases of invasive meningococcal disease have been confirmed in Kent. Sadly, 2 people are known to have died. It's important to know the signs of symptoms of meningitis and septicaemia. Get more info from NHS.
