As of 10:46 this morning it is officially Spring 2026 🥳
As equestrians we have survived frozen troughs 🧊, changing rugs constantly 🧥, traipsing through mud like it’s part of the Tough Man challenge 💪 and emotionally questioning why we have horses in the first place 🫣
But we did it! Still standing, slightly feral, definitely tired, financially drained by extra bedding, extra feed, extra vet and/or physio call-outs…but we did it!
So let’s enjoy the dry ground (for now), the rug-free days (for now), the horses extra “Spring” in their step and pray it lasts 🙏

The handsome Malcolm trapped a nerve in his shoulder on Weds & caused his mum a vet’s call out when this gentle giant of 17+hh couldn’t lift his head off the floor! 😖 Hands-on physio & laser followed the next day to help release the impinged nerve ❤️‍🩹 I fully understand how he felt after trapping a nerve in my neck just 3 weeks ago! 😫 Have you trapped a nerve before? Imagine that in a body 10x the size! 🧡

My golden boy is 33 today! 🥳 Although I didn’t get to see him today due to other horses on island injuring themselves 🙄 Mo was spoilt by our friends on the yard, accompanied by his own birthday song from Aunty Jen 🎶 And he will be spoilt by me this weekend! I’m lucky to have him & still be making memories as he catches up to my age 🤣💙 Here’s to you Moët 🥂

Happy International Women’s Day 🙋🏼‍♀️
A day to celebrate women who
🐴 run yards & own horses
🏠 juggle families and businesses
💞 support not only their friends but other equestrians too
💪 keep going even when life is hard
🙏 and still find kindness every day.
All women are special but horse women are a rare kind of special.
🤎 We learn resilience traipsing through knee high mud.
🧘🏼‍♀️ We learn patience whilst trying to load a stubborn horse.
💪 We learn courage from 500kg animals that terrify us on a weekly basis.
We are all stronger than we think.

Wednesday was fab training with from England and the PEMF unit from 💕 are always investing into their horses’ heath & well-being and they certainly enjoyed it! 🤤 Swipe to see some of the effects of PEMF and the horses’ reactions 😴 😘

Happy hump day - It’s officially 6 more Wednesdays until Spring 🥳🌸

🤎 The fields are still mud-bound.
🧥 Rugs are still questioned each day.
👹 Horses still look feral.

BUT there are small signs of Spring
☀️ The light is slowly stretching out in the evenings.
🌱 Shoots of new grass are appearing.
🆘 We can slowly shift out of full-survival mode.
