As we sail into the New Year, we’re making sure safety stays ship-shape at Wetwheels South East 🦺

Our participant and volunteer crew lifejackets need their annual service, and the total cost is £1,500. Not the most glamorous expense… but one of the most important ones!

🎅✨ Santa has packed up his sleigh and headed back to the North Pole, ready to take flight tomorrow!

We’ve absolutely loved welcoming him to our first ever fully accessible Santa’s Grotto, and Santa himself has loved meeting every one of our wonderful guests. ❤️

A huge thank you to Port of Dover and B&Q Dover for kindly supplying the decorations and helping make the grotto so special.

Finally, a massive Merry Christmas from everyone at Wetwheels South East 🎄✨

Take a little look inside our Santa’s Grotto at Wetwheels South East 👀

Behind the twinkling lights and festive decorations, a calm and welcoming space is being created — with Santa ready to meet visitors at their own pace.

Our grotto is fully accessible and sensory-friendly, thoughtfully designed for children and adults with additional needs. Expect a gentle festive atmosphere, friendly elves, and a special gift — all without the rush or overwhelm.

❄️ Full wheelchair access
❄️ Optional “no surprise” visits
❄️ Free entry for carers and support workers

Last night all our crew came together to celebrate the amazing year 2025 has been! We enjoyed an amazing meal at Bella Vita at Dover Marina, gave our 2025 review and our annual awards ceremony.

Our crew are amazing and we couldn’t do half the things we do without their care, dedication and commitment.

A big thank you to everyone one who attended, and those who couldn’t.

Meet Santa in a calm, welcoming environment designed especially for children and adults with additional needs. Enjoy festive decorations, friendly elves and a thoughtful gift - all at your own pace.

We understand that every visitor’s needs are unique. Our grotto is designed to be sensory-friendly, with:

❄️ Limited visitor numbers per session
❄️ Easy wheelchair access throughout

Our SEND & Disability-Friendly Santa’s Grotto is proudly run by Wetwheels South East CIC and our amazing team of volunteers. We are only aiming to cover our costs to run the Grotto; if any money is made it will be used to support future Wetwheels experiences. We’re opening our Grotto to make sure it’s fully accessible and enjoyable for all.

🌟 We’re Excited to Announce… We’ll Be Guest Speakers! 🌟

We’re delighted to be speaking at the Kent and Medway Young Persons Forum on Wednesday, 18th February 2026, from 11:30am to 2:00pm at the Gillingham Service Centre (1 Ambley Green, Gillingham, ME8 0NJ).

This is a fantastic opportunity for young wheelchair users (under 30) to share experiences, meet others, and hear from inspiring organisations, including Wetwheels, The Education People, Whizz Kidz, and more.

🎤 We’ll be joining a great lineup of speakers offering insights, advice, and encouragement — so come along, have your say, and be part of shaping the future of wheelchair services in Kent and Medway.
