🌸 today we had our very first Minibus trip. We went to Kearsney Abbey (only around the corner, but was perfect for our first one).

Some family met us there, we had tea and coffee while watching with remote control boats on the lake. 🌻

We fed the birds and some thought it was hilarious when a swan pecked my ankle!! 🤣🤣🪿

We couldn’t have picked a more perfect day, the sun was shining, there was a nice breeze. 🪷

☀️After, we went for a short trip down Alkham Valley and back again. Our residents were able to take in the scenery and everyone really enjoyed our trip.

Next week is our trip to Dover beach and we are already looking for are to it! 🌼

We have had a fun packed week so far!

🌸Every Monday we have the wonderful ladies from The Sage Network who come and do something different with our residents every week. This week they potted plants in pots and were transferred to our garden 🌺

🎈 Tuesday we played lots of balloon games. In the afternoon we got our big net out in the tearooms and had residents and relatives seated either side and had an active game of balloon tennis! Lots of laughs and fun was had! 🥎

🎤Wednesday had the wonderful singer Tara who entertained us all. She was highly complimented by our residents and relatives. We also painted some really beautiful flower pictures 🌻

☀️Yesterday we made our own wind chimes and sun catchers for the residents bedroom windows. We had some wonderful designs made and each resident enjoys being able to see it hanging up on their window, gently blowing in the wind. 🌞

👂🏻Today we some vital 1-2-1 company with myself. Meaningful engagement is important for many reasons and it’s something I personally enjoy doing. Later this afternoon we have a movie planned (The Greatest Showman) 🧠

🟧Tomorrow we will be playing different beanbag games over all units with people of different abilities 🟩

🧃🍦Yesterday we enjoyed our outside patio area with some beautiful sunshine. Cool drinks and ice creams on the go with music, chatter and lots of laughing. 😄😍🪷

🎼🧩We played games, made homemade bird feeders and had lunch outside together. 🎲🌸

👒👓Sunshine is good for the soul and some of our residents kicked their slippers off and enjoyed the soft breeze on their feet 🐦‍⬛🌞🌺

🌳🪴We were joined by relatives throughout and everyone had a wonderful day 🌻🪻

🐰This week we made some white chocolate cornflakes cakes. And we also got the crafts out again and start making some wreaths for Easter as well as decorations for our Easter trees 🐰

🎾 This morning we had a great session for seated tennis. 🎾 The service users all participated and were really engaged. 🎾

🎾Exercise is vital for dementia patients because it improves cognitive function, enhances mood, and increases physical strength, helping to manage symptoms and maintain independence. Regular activity boosts blood flow to the brain, potentially slowing mental decline and reducing behavioral issues, while also reducing the risk of falls and improving sleep🎾
