Catherine (Cathy) Irvine RIP

The family of the late Cathy Irvine wish to express sincere and heartfelt thanks to family, friends and neighbours who sympathised with and supported us in our recent time of bereavement.

Thanks to all who paid their respects at the repose, attended the funeral, sent sympathy cards and other messages of support and helped our family in any way through the passing of our dear Mother.

A very Special mention to, Charles Rourke and Sons Funeral Directors, for the Professional and dignified manner in which they carried out the funeral arrangements. Also to express our deepest gratitude to Kings Castle and their Staff in Ardglass for how they cared for Mum.
To Fr Conway and Tony Graham who provided great care and attention during mum’s Requiem Mass, also to Finbarr Keaveney for the beautiful music.
Further thanks to St. Patrick's Golf Club, Downpatrick for the catering.

James Rooney RIP

The family of the late James Rooney wish to express sincere thanks to family, friends and neighbours who sympathised with and supported us in our recent time of bereavement.

Thanks to all who came to the repose, attended the funeral, sent flowers, sympathy cards and other messages of support and helped our family in any way through the passing of our dear James, husband of Marie and father of Neil, Barry and Kevin.

Special mention to Stream Street Surgery, Downe Hospital, Doris Pharmacy, John Gordon, Charles Rourke and Sons Funeral Directors, Fr Conway, Edmund McCullough and Karl Rhodes who all provided great care and attention. Further thanks to Mange Tout Deli and St. Patrick's Golf Club, Downpatrick for the catering.

PATRICIA McALLISTER RIP

Raymond, Andrea and their families wish to extend their heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised with them on their recent bereavement. Thank you to everyone who supported the family with cards and messages of condolences at this time. Sincere appreciation to all those who attended the wake, funeral or viewed Patricia’s Requiem Mass online.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the staff of Strangford Court Nursing Home, we are very grateful to each one of you for the support and dignity you gave her. Thank you to those who cared for her during her time at Corriewood Nursing Home.

We would like to thank most sincerely Fr. Eugene O'Neill for celebrating the life of Patricia with a beautiful Requiem Mass. Thank you to Finbarr Keaveney for the lovely music.

JOE (JOHN JOSEPH) McSHANE RIP

The family of the late Joe McShane wish to extend their sincere thanks and heartfelt gratitude to our friends, family, neighbours, and all those who sympathised with and supported us following the loss of our beloved dad, granda, brother, uncle and friend.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who visited our home, attended the funeral, sent Mass and sympathy cards, and shared messages of condolence. Your kindness and support have been a great comfort to us during this difficult time.

Our sincere thanks to Down Community Care, the Downe & Ulster hospital teams for the care, compassion, and professionalism shown to Joe. We also gratefully acknowledge all who made donations to Chest Heart & Stroke NI.

We wish to express our appreciation to Reverend Martin O’Hagan and Reverend Conor McGrath for celebrating Joe’s Requiem Mass, and to Reverend Ciaran Feeney for officiating at the graveside. We thank them for their pastoral care, kindness, and ongoing support to our family. Our thanks also extend to St Colmcilles Choir, supported by members of the Diocesan Lourdes Choir and the Contact Singers, for the beautiful and uplifting music.

Sincere appreciation is also conveyed to Charles Rourke and Sons for the professional, compassionate, and attentive manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out.

Although it is not possible to thank everyone individually, we hope this acknowledgement will express our sincere appreciation and gratitude.

Joe, your presence is deeply missed, your memory will be forever treasured, and the rhythm of you and Rosemary’s dance will beat strongly in our hearts. They were inseparable in life and now they are inseparable in eternity.

Dorothy Crothers

The family of the late Dorothy Crothers wish to express sincere thanks to family, friends and neighbours who sympathised with and supported us in our recent time of sad bereavement.

We would like to thank all those who paid their respects, sent cards and messages of condolences, attended Dorothy’s funeral service and made a donation to The Lily Foundation, in Dorothy’s memory. We really appreciate the kindness shown to us.

The family of the late Basil McDowell wish to express sincere thanks to family, friends and neighbours who sympathised with and supported us in our recent time of bereavement.

Thanks to all who visited the family home, attended the funeral, sent sympathy cards and other messages of support and helped the family in any way through this difficult time.

Special thanks to all the staff and nursing and medical teams at the Ulster Hospital, Downe Hospital, King’s Castle Nursing Home and Stream Street Surgery. Special thanks to all the wonderful community carers who cared for Basil in his own home with great skill, tenderness, love and respect.

Thanks to Maeve Gilchrist for her Eucharistic ministry and Lilian for her care and attention.

Our sincere thanks to Fr John Varghese for attending Basil’s home and for celebrating the Requiem Mass. Thanks to the Dunsford parishioners who helped at the funeral service and to Bernie and Marty Campbell for their beautiful music and singing.
