HARRY DEGAN
The late Harry Degan's wife Mandy, along with his children and siblings, wish to express their gratitude to all those who supported them during their recent bereavement, especially those who called to their home, sent cards, flowers, online tributes, messages and attended the Funeral Service, both live and online. To those who helped and contributed to the wake, thank you, it couldn't have happened without your tireless help - Harry would have loved it.
My personal thanks to all those family members and friends who carried Harry on his final journey from the family's home through the village he always loved, to the Chapel and then onto to his final place of rest. He would have been so proud.
This chapter of Harry's life could not be closed without acknowledging:
The Ulster Hospital & Respiratory Clinic - Our thanks go to Mr Hewitt and the nurses working in the Respiratory Clinic, firstly for the support, care and help Harry received which allowed him to keep his independence and dignity to the end, by helping him during his stay at the Ulster Hospital and enabling him to get home to his family. Thanks to all the staff working at the Ulster Hospital's Respiratory and Cardiac teams on Wards 3B and 3C during Harry's final weeks. He enjoyed the banter and humour during a challenging and trying time. Your patience, care and efforts to keep him with us will not be forgotten. To all those at The Cancer Centre at Belfast City Hospital, especially Dr Crockett, thank you for doing all you could to help Harry. You gave him the hope he needed to keep going.
Chris Quinn, Funeral Minister - For leading prayers at the wake and delivering the Funeral Service both at the Church and graveside. Your help, kind words and support throughout were greatly appreciated.
Bernie and Marty Campbell - The family are eternally grateful for the help given to select the right music for Harry's final farewell and for delivering it in such a beautiful and moving way throughout the Service.
Michael McCarthy and his team for the splendid food provided at the Teconnaught Gaelic Club and the staff at the Teconnaught Gaelic Club for providing the final venue.
Finally, sincere thanks to Charles Rourke and Sons Funeral Directors, for their advice, professionalism and help in giving Harry his final journey to rest.
To try to thank all those who showed friendship and support both during and at the end of Harry's life would be impossible, but please accept this acknowledgement from all his family who it has helped, and who greatly appreciate it.
A Month’s Mind Mass will take place in Church of The Immaculate Conception & St. Joseph, Crossgar on Sunday, 9th November at 10.30 am.
