Due to the impending storm and the red weather warning the Lab will be closed tomorrow Friday 24th.
We will reopen Monday 27th and resume our collection and delivery service to surgeries.

We are hiring.

We are looking to hire an experienced and registered prosthetic technician to work in a small but busy laboratory on the outskirts of Downpatrick.

The ideal candidate would be able to carry out all aspects of denture production to a high standard and to work unsupervised. Other tasks would be to produce and finish various thermoformed devices, again to a high standard.
Communicate with surgeries in a confident and knowledgeable manner.
Carry out other laboratory tasks.
On occasion do deliveries so a clean driving license would be required.
Registration with the GDC essential and be up to date with CPD in the current cycle.

We would also consider a laboratory assistant whose duties would be to:
- Pour and trim impressions.
- Flask pack process and polish dentures.
- Produce thermoformed devices.
- And to maintain general cleanliness of the production areas.

Salary dependent on experience and ability.

RIP Gertie.
Thoughts and prayers with our Eddie and family 💔

CRANGLE Gertie, 4 Carriff Court, Kilclief, Strangford died peacefully at home, Friday 1 March surrounded by her loving family. Dearly beloved wife of Eddie, loving mother of Danny, Edward, Deborah and Shaun and the late baby Catherine, much loved mother-in-law of Marguerite, Elaine, Jude and Sinead, devoted grandmother of Matthew, Dylan, Oisin, Calum, Ciaràn, Ryan, Aaròn, Rebecca, Orlaith and Mollie, beloved great-grandmother of Caden and much loved sister of Dickie, Kathleen, Mary, Eddie, Laurence, Dolores, Raymond, Margo and Billy and the late Jacqueline, Patricia and Betty.

Gertie is reposing in Down Funeral Directors, 26 John Street, Downpatrick, BT30 6BY on Friday from 3pm with the family in attendance daily from 6-9pm (Friday) and Saturday onwards from 2-4pm and 6-9pm.

Gertie will leave the funeral home on Sunday 3 March at 2.30 pm to be received into St Patrick's Church, Saul at 3pm. Gertie's Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Monday 4 March at 11.30 am with cremation on Wednesday 6 March at 11:20am at Roselawn.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired to MNDA and Marie Curie c/o the family.

Deeply regretted by her sorrowing husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, brothers, sisters and large circle of family and friends.

DOWN BUSINESS CENTRE OFFER TO FLOOD-HIT BUSINESSES

Down Business Centre is making some of its office and unit spaces available free on a short-term basis to help businesses, which have been hit with floods, in Downpatrick and Ballynahinch. We have space available to store stock, equipment, and furnishings. We will also provide office space for businesses to continue their operations and plan for the future. Any business owner who wants to avail of this opportunity should contact us as soon as possible to make arrangements. We have limited space and allocations will be on a first-come basis. There will be no charges for use of our accommodation for up to 6 weeks.

Down Business Centre Chairperson, Michael Morrissey, explained why the offer is being made: “We recognise this is only a small contribution to help with the catastrophic circumstances faced by many businesses but we are anxious to do what we can to reduce the pressures facing our business owners. Hopefully, this will make a significant difference to some businesses. We have frozen our normal leasing activities to ensure we have some space available.”

The space immediately available includes 4 units at the Centre’s new Box Clever storage facility, as well as 3 offices.

For younger pupils starting out on new adventures in new schools, missing the bus home can be a very daunting experience, especially with the darker evenings approaching.

If your child misses the bus home, feels unsafe or simply needs to call home, please let them know they are welcome to call in to Mullan Gallagher. We can help them to call home and provide a safe place to wait to be collected.

This date 2013 MC Dental Laboratory opened for business the first day.
(Monday by the day. )
We opened with not one single client. The next few weeks were spent touring the country trying getting our foot in a door and land someone willing to give us a try.
TEN years later we’ve progressed from sole trader to Ltd. Co.
My wife Corriena has retired from her career to join me as director and administrator. Julie joined us in 2015 and is sticking it with us for some reason 🤷‍♂️ and Eddie is raking the country in the wee van collecting and delivering work.
This has been the rollercoaster of my life.
I’ve had ups and downs, but those who we’re beside me from the beginning, some looking down on MCDL now, have kept me up when I’ve been down and kept me level in case I got to far ahead.
To all our clients, those who have stayed with us, those who have moved on, thank you. If it weren’t for the business you’ve given us we couldn’t have got to this point.
In the current financial climate we would like to wish our clients a successful and prosperous future and hopefully we can meet your expectations and continue our journey for the foreseeable future. And bring it on for the next 10 Years
