The 1st Anniversay Mass of the late Daniel Maginn will take place on Saturday 24th January 2026 at 5pm in St Nicholas Church, Ardglass.

Everyone is welcome back to his mother's house after the mass for refreshments.

Died 9th January 2026 peacefully at Downe Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Dearly beloved husband of the late Susan. Loving father to Pauline and Gerard. Dear father-in-law of Deirdre, Liz and Robbie. Cherished grandfather and great grandfather.

Funeral from his late residence, 22 Lynnhurst Park, Drumaness on Monday 12th January 2026 at 10.30am for 11am Requiem Mass in St Patrick's Church, Ballynahinch. Interment afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.

Everyone is welcome to pay their respects at Oliver’s late residence on Saturday between 4.00pm - 9.00pm and Sunday from 12 Noon to 8.00pm. House private to family only on Monday.

Martin Fitzsimons

We the family of the late Martin Fitzsimons wish to pass on our sincere thanks and gratitude to all family and friends who sympathised with us during the sad loss of our devoted father grandfather brother and friend.
Thanks to the doctors and nurses in the downe hospital and the green surgery who cared for Martin over the past few years and to all who attended to Martin during his illness especially every single member of staff in the Downe dementia unit we will never be able to thank you enough for the love and care you gave to dad and the exceptional understanding and care that you showed to us his family
Thank you to all who attended the house and funeral sent cards and helped in any way your words and kindness mean so much
A special thanks to all Martin's gaelic family from saul and down
Thanks to Fr Derek Kearney for the Requiem Mass and the Campbell family for their beautiful singing.
A special thanks to those who donated to Dementia NI
Thank you to Ciaran and staff from Fitzsimons funeral directors for the dignified and professional manner in which they carried out Martin's funeral arrangements.

Martin's months mind mass will take place on Saturday 17th January at 5pm in St Patrick's church Downpatrick.

Gerald‘s remains will be reposing in Seamus Fitzsimons Funeral Home, 24 English Street, Downpatrick BT30 6AB with the family in attendance on Friday, 9th January 2026 between 2pm - 5pm. Removal to St Marys Church Dunsford arriving at 6 pm, Friday. Requiem Mass on Saturday 10th January at 10am followed by burial in adjoining Cemetery..
