Our sincere thanks to Helen for beautifully officiating our Christmas Memorial Service this year alongside our wonderful readers, Graeme, Peter, Katy & Giles.

We hope the service offered everyone a moment of reflection and a pause during this busy season, allowing us to hold those we love in our thoughts in a truly special way.

We’ve raised £300.63 for Scope which has been donated, thank you for your support and huge thank you to Jonathan and Debbie for helping with the raffle.

As always, our sincere thanks to Sue M Dixon Therapies for your exceptional work and the support you offer to so many.

It is always comforting to see familiar faces who have entrusted us with the care of their loved ones, and equally meaningful to meet new faces, even during such difficult times.

We would be honoured to welcome you again at next year’s service, and we wish you all a very peaceful and Merry Christmas.

Our Christmas Memorial Service takes place 1 week today.

Thank you to everyone who has already sent in photos of their loved ones to be included in the service. If you would still like to share a photo, you have until Monday the 8th to send it to eastriding.crematorium@thecmg.co.uk. I will confirm once your photos have been received.

When you arrive, you will be invited to light a candle in memory of your loved one, so their light can shine throughout the service. There will also be opportunities to do this at the end.

At 11.00am Helen Davies will be leading the service, giving us all a moment to pause, reflect, and remember those we hold dear.

After the service, everyone is welcome to join us in the Hospitality Suite for complimentary refreshments. You will also be able to visit our Book of Remembrance room to place a star on the tree.

We will have letters available for anyone wishing to write a personal message to their loved one this Christmas, which can then be posted in our “Letters to Heaven” post box located in the memorial gardens. Many people find that writing their thoughts and feelings down can bring comfort and help them feel more connected to their loved one during this time. All letters are kept securely as we send your love onwards.

We are also grateful to once again welcome Sue M Dixon Therapies, a trained therapist, who has supported many families at previous services. Her calm presence and understanding nature have brought comfort to those who were finding the day particularly emotional, and we truly appreciate her continued willingness to be with us. She will be available for anyone who feels they may benefit from a quiet conversation or a moment of support.

There will also be a raffle in the Hospitality Suite. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has kindly donated gifts, as well as those who have already contributed towards the chosen charity, Scope, selected by our new Business Leader.

We look forward to seeing you.

Matt and Chris have added another stunning Christmas tree to our Hospitality Suite, all prepared for our Christmas Memorial Service on Saturday 13th December.

Kindly submit your photos before 8th December to ensure your loved ones are included in the tribute. We will respond to confirm safe receipt of all submissions. Send them to eastriding.crematorium@thecmg.co.uk

The Christmas tree is now up in the Book of Remembrance room—thank you to Matty for beautifully setting it up. Stars are available for you to write a message in memory of a loved one and place it on the tree.

Our Christmas Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, 13th December at 11am, led by Helen Davies. During the service, there will be an opportunity to light a candle and place a star on the tree. Free refreshments will be available in our Hospitality Suite, and we will also be holding a raffle to raise money for SCOPE.

Our Christmas Memorial Service will take place 2 weeks from today.
This year, we are raising money for SCOPE, a charity that reached out to our new business leader when his eldest son was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, and SCOPE works to create greater opportunities for disabled people.

After the service, there will be free refreshments in our Hospitality Suite, along with the chance to donate and take part in a raffle featuring some fantastic prizes kindly donated -

Last year’s service, led by Graeme Holbrook, was truly special, and he did a wonderful job. This year, we are delighted to have Helen Davies leading the service. Each year, a different celebrant will take the role to offer a fresh perspective, and we are fortunate to have many excellent celebrants who support our funeral services.

The service starts at 11 o'clock on Saturday, 13th December, with refreshments served after in our Hospitality Suite to help support SCOPE.
Our Christmas tree will be available for you to place a star in memory of loved ones in our Book of Remembrance room.

Anyone visiting the crematorium today, please be aware that our grounds are still covered in snow. Parking is limited, so if you are able to car share, it would be greatly appreciated. Please park considerately in the main car park to help maximise the available space.

When entering the grounds, please note that the entire left-hand side is our “laying to rest” lawn area — no parking is permitted there.
